The three watches named in the headline cannot be identified from the article text alone: Time+Tide’s 19 August 2019 report points readers to its video for the lesser-seen models. What the text does establish is the setting: Tissot’s first standalone Australian boutique had opened at MidCity Shopping Centre in Sydney CBD. The story is a snapshot of that 2019 visit, not a guide to the store today.
Why the three watch names are unclear
Time+Tide’s report describes spotting “two lesser-seen models” and directs readers to the video to see which watches it means. The article text available does not name the three watches in its headline, and the reviewed material does not provide a usable transcript. Naming models from that text would therefore be guesswork.
A separate opening report by Boss Hunting mentions the Tissot Heritage 1948 as part of the boutique’s broader collection. That does not establish that the Heritage 1948 was one of the watches featured by Time+Tide, so it should not be treated as a confirmed pick.
What the 2019 boutique visit established
Time+Tide, in an article dated 19 August 2019, gave the address as “492 George & 197 Pitt Street – MidCity Shopping Centre, Sydney, NSW.” Its listed hours—09:00–18:00 Monday through Saturday and 10:00–17:00 Sunday, with closure on Australian Stock Exchange non-trading days—are historical details, not verified current opening information. Read the original Time+Tide report.

Boss Hunting’s 18 August 2019 opening report describes the store on MidCity’s ground floor, off George Street and Pitt Street Mall, and says it carried a large Tissot collection. It also identifies the Heritage 1948 as one example of the wider range, not as a confirmed watch from the Time+Tide headline. Read Boss Hunting’s opening report.
What services were described at the time
The two contemporaneous reports describe an on-site watch technician, but their service lists differ. Time+Tide listed pressure testing, battery replacement, link and strap adjustments, performance testing, and cleaning. Boss Hunting listed battery replacement, link and strap adjustments, diagnostics, and cleaning. These are descriptions published in August 2019, not confirmation of the boutique’s current services.

How to identify the watches before comparing them
- Check the video embedded or linked from the original Time+Tide article; its text explicitly directs readers there for the lesser-seen models.
- Confirm each model name from the video or a reliable transcript before searching for current specifications or availability.
- Only then compare practical details such as dimensions, movement, water resistance, bracelet or strap, price, and local availability. None of those model-level details is established by the two opening reports.
Time+Tide also reported that Tissot had 361 boutiques at the time and repeated a Swatch Group brand claim that “one in every four ‘traditional’ … Swiss-made watches” sold was a Tissot. The count is historical; the market claim’s wording is ambiguous, and the article’s suggestion that “traditional” may mean mechanical is the author’s interpretation rather than a defined measure.
