The Tissot Antimagnetique Pointer Date 6445 is a late-1940s manual-wind watch distinguished by a fourth hand that points to the date around the dial. In Michael Stockton’s 2024 Fratello review, the example is identified as a 1947 watch with a 35 mm stainless-steel case and a Tissot 27-67 movement. Those details describe the reviewed example and the source’s account; they do not establish the year, specifications, or originality of every watch sold under this or a related reference.
What is the Tissot Antimagnetique Pointer Date 6445?
Stockton places the reviewed 6445 in Tissot’s late-1940s waterproof-case line and dates that example to 1947. The watch combines hours, minutes, small seconds, and a pointer date: a separate hand indicates the date on an outer track rather than displaying it in a window. The date hand is red and arrow-tipped on the example described.
The review’s “bullseye” dial has a black-and-gray color scheme, a central gray area, Arabic hour numerals, a small-seconds subdial, and an outer date scale. Other dial variants existed, so this layout and colorway should not be assumed for every 6445.
What does “Antimagnetique” mean here?
Stockton explains the label as referring to newer balance-wheel alloys that were less magnetic than earlier materials. He cautions that the vintage designation is not equivalent to the protection offered by a purpose-built modern anti-magnetic watch. The review gives no quantified magnetic-resistance rating for the 6445, so the name alone does not establish a level of protection.

Movement background
The review says the 27-series was based on Tissot’s caliber 27, introduced in 1936. It also says the watch was manufactured until 1949, before being modified to include Incabloc shock protection. These are historical details reported by Stockton, not an independently verified production record for every watch bearing a related reference.

Water resistance and surviving cases
The review describes the case as waterproof, but that historical description does not establish a present-day water-resistance rating. Gaskets, crowns, case backs, and seals can deteriorate or be replaced over time. Do not treat a surviving example as water-safe unless a qualified watchmaker has inspected and tested that individual watch.
How does the pointer date work?
The fourth hand makes one circuit around the dial’s outer date track, pointing to the calendar date. Stockton says the date is not quick-set. The review does not specify a setting procedure, so avoid forcing the hands or assuming a particular adjustment sequence; ask a watchmaker familiar with the movement how to set the calendar safely.

What should you check before buying one?
Condition is central to the appeal and difficulty of finding a good example. Stockton notes that lighter dials may be easier to find in better condition than dark bullseye versions. A seller’s photographs or reference number alone cannot establish that a particular watch is original, correctly configured, or mechanically sound.
- Dial and hands: Compare the dial layout and date hand with the claimed variant. Look for visible alterations, damage, or mismatched components, and request clear images.
- Case: Examine wear and the sharpness of the case edges, as well as whether the back and crown appear consistent with the seller’s description.
- Movement and service: Request movement photographs and dated service documentation. A qualified specialist can assess condition; do not assume that a watch is serviced merely because it runs.
- Calendar operation: Ask whether the pointer date operates correctly across its track and whether the hands and small seconds function as expected.
- Provenance and price: Consider completeness and any supporting history alongside condition. Treat the asking price as specific to that watch, not as proof of authenticity or value.
The review reports radium lume on its discussed example and says radium-filled numerals and hands were common in this group. That does not establish the lume material or condition of another watch. The review is not a safety guide; if the lume’s composition or condition is uncertain, consult a qualified specialist rather than disturbing it.

What did the 2024 review estimate it was worth?
On August 14, 2024, Stockton estimated €750–€1,500 for a nice example, with the upper end reserved for something special. This is one writer’s estimate from 2024, not a current market index or a valuation of any individual watch. Condition, originality, completeness, and the evidence available for a particular example all matter when interpreting an asking price.
