The “buy it now” button is part of a 2013 headline, not a current offer. The Rolex Zerographe ref. 3346 described in that article was scheduled for Christie’s Geneva sale on May 13, 2013, as lot 179. Monochrome Watches reported a preliminary estimate of CHF 250,000–350,000, but its article does not establish the final sale price or whether the watch is available today.

What was the Rolex Zerographe ref. 3346?

Monochrome Watches’ April 22, 2013 article describes case no. 146276 as a 1937 Rolex Zerographe ref. 3346: a 32 mm Oyster-cased chronograph with a screw-down crown and rotating bezel. The article characterizes it as the first Rolex fitted with a rotating bezel; that is the source’s historical claim, not a separately verified production record.

The article presents the watch as technically unusual for its period. It describes an in-house, 17-jewel, manual-wind movement and a pusher at 2 o’clock. According to its account, pressing the pusher stops the central seconds hand and returns it to zero; releasing the pusher starts the hand again. The author calls this an early, limited flyback-style function for timing one continuous event.

What was the auction estimate—and did it sell?

The 2013 article identifies the Zerographe as Christie’s Geneva lot 179, scheduled for May 13, 2013. It reports Christie’s preliminary estimate as CHF 250,000–350,000. That range was an estimate ahead of the sale, not a realized price. The article supplies no confirmed hammer price or other sale result, so it cannot answer how much the watch ultimately sold for.

How rare was the Zerographe?

The article’s rarity figures are explicitly uncertain. Its author wrote that there may have been as many as seven Zerographes and that up to four had been identified. These are qualified historical estimates, not a definitive Rolex production total. The article’s author, Mario Squillacioti, called the watch one that “represents so many different and important things about Rolex to collectors”—an opinion about its significance, not a statement from Rolex or Christie’s.

Is there a buy-it-now listing today?

No current listing or purchase option is established by the 2013 article. Its headline’s “BUY IT NOW” wording is a hook, while the documented event was a scheduled auction more than a decade ago. The source is Monochrome Watches, Mario Squillacioti’s article dated April 22, 2013: “An Ultra-Rare Rolex Hits The Auction Block! Where’s The ‘BUY IT NOW’ Button???”.
