The updated Breguet Marine 5517 makes its strongest change on the dial: the date moves to 6 o’clock, and a new hand-guilloché Quai de l’Horloge pattern gives the face a more symmetrical, classically composed look. The 2026 announcement presents the watch in three material-linked colorways—ice blue in white gold, black in pink gold and blue in titanium—while retaining the collection’s maritime cues.

What changed on the updated Marine 5517?
The date aperture is now at 6 o’clock. Swatch Group says the relocation reinforces the dial’s balance and symmetry. It is a consequential adjustment to the face’s layout, rather than a change to the watch’s basic three-hand format.
The dial also receives a new hand-guilloché pattern called Quai de l’Horloge. Swatch Group says it draws on the contours of Île de la Cité and Île Saint-Louis and evokes the movement of waves. The name refers to the Paris address where Abraham-Louis Breguet established his workshop; the motif marks the Maison’s 250th anniversary. The announcement describes the pattern as hand-guilloché, not as a printed texture.

For the new versions, Swatch Group lists ice blue with white gold, black with pink gold and blue with titanium. A gold Breguet applique marks 12 o’clock. These are announced pairings, not a promise that every case, dial and bracelet combination is offered in every market.

Swatch Group’s release says each version is available on a rubber strap or a metal bracelet. Breguet’s white-gold listing, reference 5517BB/Y2/9ZU, gives one specific configuration: a blue guilloché dial, alligator strap, white-gold buckle and three-blade deployant clasp. That page is evidence for that listed reference, not proof that all combinations in the announcement are interchangeable. Check the precise reference for the configuration sold in your market.

Which maritime details remain?
The watch’s nautical identity is expressed through several specific design elements. The tip of the seconds hand forms a “B,” a reference to the “Bravo” maritime flag; Swatch Group says the crown guard evokes waves. Through the sapphire caseback, the gold oscillating weight is inspired by a rudder. These details preserve the Marine theme alongside the more classical dial composition.

The titanium product listing also specifies a screwed crown and sapphire caseback. The 22 mm lug width is a useful reference when checking strap dimensions, but it does not establish that any generic aftermarket strap is approved or compatible; confirm fit for the exact reference before buying one.

The 40 mm diameter and 11.5 mm thickness describe the listed case dimensions, but they cannot establish how the watch wears on an individual wrist. Case material and the selected strap or bracelet also differ across configurations. With no independent hands-on assessment of the updated model established, comfort, perceived weight, legibility and real-world timekeeping remain unverified here.
