Hamilton’s Ventura story runs from its 1957 electric-watch debut to Elvis Presley wearing a triangular Ventura in the 1961 film Blue Hawaii. For an Elvis birthday celebration, three later expressions take different routes into that legacy: the color-focused Ventura Blue, the bracelet-integrated Ventura S Quartz, and the open-worked Ventura Elvis80 Skeleton. They are modern interpretations or descendants—not all the same watch Elvis wore on screen.
Why the Ventura is linked to Elvis
Hamilton dates the Ventura’s introduction to 1957 and credits its design to industrial designer Richard Arbib. The company describes it as “the world’s first electric watch”; that is Hamilton’s historical claim. Hamilton’s brand history also says Elvis wore the triangular Ventura in Blue Hawaii, released in 1961. Hamilton’s history of the watch is the source for both connections.
Elvis was born on January 8, 1935, so his birthday is a natural moment to revisit the model. The age associated with a celebration changes each year; the watches below are selected for their different design links to the Ventura story, not as a ranking of technical performance.
Three Ventura expressions, three different Elvis connections

Ventura Blue: the musical, color-led choice
Hamilton’s January 2024 release introduced six Ventura Blue models inspired by “Blue Suede Shoes.” Hamilton called Elvis “a dedicated fan of the Ventura from its debut.” That is the brand’s characterization, and the Blue collection’s connection is musical and color-led rather than a claim that any one of its modern models is the exact watch from Blue Hawaii. The release does not confirm which models remain available today.

Ventura S Quartz: the Flex design connection
The March 2025 Ventura S Quartz with Flex Bracelet is the most direct choice if the bracelet design is what appeals to you. Hamilton says Elvis owned an original Ventura Flex and that it inspired the new version. That statement does not establish that the original Flex was the watch worn in Blue Hawaii, nor that the modern S is Elvis’s own watch.
Ventura Elvis80 Skeleton: the futuristic reinterpretation
The Elvis80 Skeleton belongs to a later design chapter. Hamilton’s 2021 announcement calls it a reinterpretation and says its ergonomic case shape takes its name from Elvis. Its skeletonized look sets it apart from the triangular screen-associated Ventura; the naming link should not be mistaken for evidence that it reproduces Elvis’s film watch.

Which Hamilton Ventura did Elvis wear in Blue Hawaii?
Hamilton’s company history says Elvis wore a triangular Ventura in Blue Hawaii. The sources cited here do not establish an exact modern reference number for the screen watch. In particular, the Ventura S Quartz with Flex Bracelet is linked by Hamilton to an original Flex design, while the film-worn Ventura is a separate historical association. Treat the three watches above as later expressions of the Ventura story, not verified replicas of the movie watch.
