What is the Seiko Mickey Mouse 2K03-5009?
It is a vintage Seiko analog quartz watch associated with the 60th anniversary of Mickey Mouse. The exact reference appears in Tomas Rosputinsky’s Fratello feature published April 4, 2020. Rosputinsky recounts that the original owner bought the watch at Carlyle & Co. in Fayetteville, North Carolina, on November 11, 1988; that date and purchase story are an owner recollection reported in the article, not an independently verified Seiko production record. There is period evidence for the anniversary watch family: a 1988–1989 Houston Jewelry catalog lists a Seiko Mickey Mouse 60th Anniversary watch and describes a commemorative caseback logo and Mickey action hands. How does the dial tell time?
Mickey’s arms serve as the hour and minute hands. A rotating small-seconds disc supplies the seconds display and is the dial’s other distinctive feature. The combination makes the watch functionally readable while keeping the character design central rather than treating it as a small decorative logo.

The gold-tone case and shiny finish give the watch a dress-watch outline, but the animated character dial makes it more playful than a conventional dress watch. That contrast is the appeal described in Rosputinsky’s personal account; it is not a universal judgment about how every wearer will regard it.
What are its size and movement details?
Rosputinsky reports a 38 mm lug-to-lug measurement and describes his example as thin and light. Treat 38 mm as a measurement reported by that reviewer, not as an official Seiko dimension; a complete official specification sheet for this reference was not established.

Mizeni characterizes the Seiko caliber 2K03 as an analog quartz movement produced in the 1980s, with a small-seconds subdial. Its reference entry lists one jewel, accuracy of ±15 seconds per month, and a silver-oxide SR621SW/364 battery. What strap or bracelet did it come with?
The period catalog describes the anniversary watch as available with either a leather strap or an expansion bracelet. Fratello’s reviewed example originally had a gold-tone expansion bracelet; Rosputinsky found it too loose for his wrist and changed it to a thin black leather strap. That is one owner’s fit choice, not a universal recommendation or proof that every 2K03-5009 was sold in both configurations.
