The Timex Giorgio Galli S2Ti (reference TW2Y27500) is a premium Swiss-made automatic built around a titanium case and bracelet, a forged-carbon-fiber mid-case, and tool-free bracelet adjustment. Timex lists it at $1,950 in the US and specifies a Sellita SW200-1 with a 41-hour power reserve. Its combination of materials and finishing is the central appeal; the price and limited availability make it a considered purchase rather than an obvious value pick.
What the S2Ti is—and what it is not
The S2Ti is the titanium version and final chapter of Timex’s Giorgio Galli S series. Timex describes a 500-piece limited edition; that is the stated edition size, not a verified production or sales count. The reviewed US/EU reference is TW2Y27500. It is a dress-oriented, everyday automatic with 50 m water resistance, not a dive watch.
Timex’s US listing displays a $1,950 price and out-of-stock status. That listing does not establish availability in other regions or the watch’s current resale value.
Design and materials: the reason to consider it
The watch pairs a titanium case and bracelet with a forged-carbon-fiber mid-case. Timex’s launch description also specifies a satin titanium dial, polished silver-tone hands, an applied stainless-steel hour track and an edge-to-edge domed, anti-reflective sapphire crystal. An exhibition window under sapphire shows the movement; the rotor is black ion-plated.
#1 Best Overall
- Gold-Tone Day-Date: White dial with day and date tracking pairs with a gold-tone 35mm case sized for a larger, 8.25-inch wrist fit
- Stainless Steel Expansion Band: An 18mm stainless steel expansion band slips on for a comfortable, no-buckle adjustable fit
- Indiglo Backlight: A simple push of the button illuminates the watch dial in the dark, day or night, rain or shine, every time
- Effortless Style: A brass case with a mineral glass crystal keeps the design simple, durable, and easy to read every day
- Built to Last: A Timex watch is designed for durability and everyday reliability; every piece reflects our commitment to quality without compromise
The design’s appeal lies in the contrast between the technical mid-case material and the more restrained dial and bracelet. Monochrome Watches and Hodinkee both highlight the case construction and material mix as notable at this price. Those are editorial assessments, not independent measurements or laboratory findings.
Size and wrist fit: 38 mm in the US and Europe, with a Japan listing conflict
For the US/EU reference, Timex and two independent watch publications list a 38 mm diameter. Timex gives a 12 mm case height; Monochrome reports 12 mm, while Hodinkee lists 12.2 mm. Both independent articles give a 46 mm lug-to-lug measurement. Timex’s US specifications list an 18 mm band width.
Rank #2
- Perfect Fit self-adjustable two-tone 20mm stainless steel expansion band fits up to 8-inch wrist circumference
- Blue easy-to-read dial with black full Arabic numerals; date window at 3 o'clock
- Two-tone 35mm brass case with mineral glass crystal
- Indiglo light-up watch dial
- Water resistant to 30m (100ft): in general, withstands splashes or brief immersion in water, but not suitable for swimming or bathing
Timex Japan’s regional page instead lists a 36 mm titanium case. The available listings do not resolve the discrepancy, so 36 mm should not be treated as the universal size. If buying by fit, confirm the dimensions for the regional listing and reference you are considering. No source here provides a wrist trial or measured weight.
Movement and power reserve
Timex specifies a Swiss-made Sellita SW200-1 automatic movement with 26 jewels, a frequency of 28,800 A/h (4 Hz), and a 41-hour power reserve. Monochrome reports the same movement specifications. Hodinkee gives a different reserve of 50 hours. Since Timex’s own product specification and Monochrome agree on 41 hours, that is the figure to use, while recognizing that published sources conflict.

Timex’s product specification and the cited articles provide no independent timing test or reliability rate, so the specification alone should not be read as a performance guarantee.
Bracelet and I-Size adjustment
The titanium bracelet and deployant clasp use Timex’s I-Size system, which the brand describes as tool-free adjustment. Monochrome also reports quick-release levers. The practical draw is being able to fine-tune bracelet fit without conventional sizing tools; a precise adjustment procedure or the number of available increments is not stated in the cited sources.

Water resistance and everyday use
Timex lists 50 m water resistance and says the watch is suitable for light swimming, but not snorkeling or poolside diving. That is the manufacturer’s stated use guidance; the rating does not make the S2Ti a dive watch. For water exposure beyond the uses Timex names, consult the manufacturer’s care guidance rather than assuming the rating covers it.
Is the Timex Giorgio Galli S2Ti worth $1,950?
At Timex’s displayed US price of $1,950, the case for the S2Ti rests on its material combination, sapphire crystal, Swiss automatic movement and unusually convenient bracelet-adjustment concept. It is not simply a standard titanium watch: the forged-carbon mid-case and considered construction are important parts of what the price buys.

That is a publication’s value assessment, not a market-wide benchmark. The available evidence does not establish a resale premium, long-term reliability, or comparative performance against all watches at this price. If the distinctive case materials and I-Size bracelet matter to you, the price may be defensible; if you mainly want a mechanical watch with a familiar movement, those features may not justify paying a premium.
