The Timex Marlin Sub-Dial Automatic, reference TW2V62100U9, pairs a cushion-shaped case and full Arabic-numeral dial with a 24-hour register at 9 o’clock. That register tracks the main hands through day and night; it is not a GMT display or a second time zone. Timex India lists a 39 mm case, 9 mm thickness, 20 mm strap width and 50 m water resistance. This is a specification-based review, not a personal wear test.
What the sub-dial does—and what it does not
The small register at 9 o’clock is a 24-hour indicator. It follows the main time on a 24-hour scale, so it can help show whether the displayed time is AM or PM, particularly when setting a stopped watch. It does not track another location or provide an independently adjustable second time zone.
That distinction matters because the dial can look like it has a travel complication. The Calibrated Wrist’s 2023 review describes the register as “not the same thing as a GMT” and calls it “to some respect, a largely extraneous function.” That is the reviewer’s assessment: the register has limited practical use, but it also gives the dial its defining visual feature.
Design and listed specifications
Timex India lists this reference as the Marlin Sub-Dial / Marlin Mod Retro Automatic. Its black dial has full Arabic numerals, a date feature, and red and blue accents. A curved cushion-shaped stainless-steel case gives it a less conventional profile than a simple round dress watch. The exhibition case back shows the automatic movement and has a marlin engraving, according to Timex.

Movement and specification discrepancies
Caliber and power reserve
Independent watch coverage identifies the movement as a Miyota 8217 and reports a power reserve of roughly 40–42 hours. Timex’s exact-reference India listing does not name a caliber or state a power-reserve figure, so those details should be treated as independent-source reporting rather than confirmed manufacturer specifications.
Power-source metadata
The same Timex listing describes the watch and movement as mechanical automatic, but its “Power source” field says “Battery.” Those entries conflict. The automatic description and exhibition back indicate the listed configuration is an automatic watch; the battery field is inconsistent product metadata, not evidence that this model is battery-powered.

Crystal material
Timex India specifies mineral glass for TW2V62100U9, while The Calibrated Wrist’s range-level review describes a domed acrylic crystal. Because that review may cover another color or SKU, the material for a particular unit should be confirmed against matching documentation or the watch itself rather than assumed from the range-wide description.
Fit, water resistance, and buying checks
The 39 mm diameter and 20 mm strap width are useful starting points, but they do not determine how the watch will sit on a wrist. The sources available for this reference do not establish its lug-to-lug measurement, and there is no on-wrist test here to support a universal comfort or wrist-size recommendation. If fit is important, check the lug-to-lug dimension for the exact unit and compare it with a watch you already find comfortable.

Timex India lists 50 m water resistance for this market reference. That rating alone does not make it a dive watch or establish that every water activity is appropriate; consult the model’s applicable user guidance before exposing it to water. The India listing’s one-year manufacturer-defect warranty applies to purchases through that portal and should not be assumed to describe warranty coverage in other regions.

The trade-off is that the register is mainly a day/night indicator rather than a more useful independent complication. If a second time zone is essential, this is not the function to buy it for; if the sub-dial’s visual character appeals to you, its limited utility may be an acceptable compromise.
