The Tissot Sculpture Line Moonphase is a gold-cased dress watch described in 2010 coverage with a moonphase display at 6 o’clock and a power-reserve indicator at 10. “Baby Breguet” is not established as its nickname: the phrase appears in seller posts about a different Tissot, the Bridgeport Chronograph. The Moonphase’s design, listed references and conflicting movement descriptions are the useful facts to know before identifying or buying one.
Is “Baby Breguet” another name for the Sculpture Line Moonphase?
No reliable evidence connects the nickname to this model. A 2010 article identifies the watch as the Tissot Sculpture Line Moonphase. Two 2020 user-sale posts use “Baby Breguet” for the Tissot Bridgeport Chronograph, as a seller’s description of its resemblance to Breguet watches—not as Tissot terminology. The phrase should therefore be treated as a potentially misleading search term, not an official or accepted Moonphase alias. The Watch Press’s 2010 model article; Bridgeport sale post; second sale-post reference.
What does the watch look like?
Sylvia McElherron’s 2010 description in The Watch Press presents a formal, vintage-influenced design: a silvered dial with a guilloché section, slim pencil-shaped hands and gold Arabic numerals. It places the moonphase at 6 o’clock and the power-reserve display at 10, with no date window. The described strap is brown crocodile-pattern leather with contrast stitching. These are details from the article, not a current Tissot specification sheet. The Watch Press.
The Watch Press reports a 42.5 mm case in 18-carat rose or white gold. A separate 2010 account also describes rose- or white-gold case options and a silvered Arabic-numeral dial. Horlogerie Suisse.

Specifications and reference numbers
Retail listings identify two references, but their specifications are seller-reported. Check the individual watch and its documentation rather than assuming every detail applies to both variants.

Is the movement manual-wind or automatic?
The available descriptions conflict, so the winding method cannot be stated confidently without reference-specific primary documentation. The Watch Press calls it a manual-wind Unitas 6498; Horlogerie Suisse describes a self-winding mechanical movement. The retailer listing for T905.638.66.032.00 names ETA 6498-1/Unitas, calls it automatic in one place and manually wound in its movement details. The Watch Press; Horlogerie Suisse; Zegarki Zgora listing.
For a watch under consideration, ask for a clear movement photograph and reference-specific documentation, or have a qualified watchmaker identify the caliber and winding system. Do not infer winding type from a seller’s brief description alone.

What to check before buying a pre-owned example
No reliable current market-wide price or inventory picture is established here. A retailer’s availability or discontinued label describes that page at the time it was viewed, not the watch’s market status generally. Compare offers for the exact reference and condition rather than relying on a broad “Baby Breguet” search.
Quick Recap
- Reference and case: Match the reference on the watch or its paperwork, and verify whether the case is rose or white gold rather than relying on a listing headline.
- Movement: Confirm caliber and winding method with documentation or a watchmaker, given the conflicting published descriptions.
- Condition and originality: Inspect the case, dial, hands, moonphase display and strap; ask whether components have been replaced or refinished.
- Service and included items: Request service records and clarify whether box and papers are included.
- Fit and water resistance: Verify strap width on the actual watch. Treat a 30 m/3 bar rating in historical descriptions as a stated specification, not assurance that a decades-old watch remains water-resistant; have it tested by a watchmaker before exposure to water.
- Price: Compare the asking price with examples of the same reference, material and condition, taking documented service into account.
