What can be verified about each watch?
Amazfit Bip 5
Amazfit’s product page says the Bip 5 supports four satellite positioning systems for workout location tracking. That establishes the manufacturer’s stated positioning support, but it does not establish real-world GPS accuracy or prove how the watch behaves when used without a connected phone. Amazfit’s US product listing does not provide an independent accuracy test.

Amazfit also lists a 1.91-inch TFT touchscreen, more than 120 sports modes, heart-rate, blood-oxygen (SpO₂), stress and sleep monitoring, Bluetooth calling, and an IP68 rating. The manufacturer describes water resistance up to 1.5 meters. These are product specifications, not independent test results.

TOZO Watch 1
The model name is the problem: TOZO’s official materials located for this comparison do not verify a product named “TOZO Watch 1.” Its watch guide page lists models including W1, W6 and W10, while a separate product page describes an S1 smartwatch. Those names do not establish that W1, S1 or another model is the “Watch 1” in the title. Their specifications should not be attributed to it.
Can either watch track a run without your phone?
Amazfit documents four satellite positioning systems for the Bip 5, but the cited product information does not establish whether a phone is required for location tracking during a workout. For TOZO, neither the exact model nor its positioning support has been verified. So the available information cannot confirm whether both watches can record a route independently of a phone.

Before buying, check the exact model number on the retailer listing or watch packaging, then confirm in the corresponding manufacturer manual whether workout location is recorded by the watch itself or supplied by a connected phone. Do not infer built-in GPS from a general “GPS” label without checking what the listing means.

Amazfit says its Zepp app provides exercise and health data, watch faces, mini apps and firmware updates. Its product information names integrations with Strava, adidas Running, TrainingPeaks via Terra, komoot, Relive, Google Fit and Apple Health; it also says Samsung Health and MyFitnessPal do not sync. These integrations may vary or change, so check the current app listing and availability in your region. Amazfit’s Zepp app page provides the manufacturer’s details.

How should you compare them before choosing?
Once you have an exact TOZO model, compare matching details rather than relying on the “budget GPS watch” label:
- Model identity: Match the product name and model number to an official TOZO page or manual.
- Phone-free location tracking: Confirm whether the watch records location itself or relies on a phone.
- Positioning support: Compare the documented satellite systems, while remembering that their number alone does not prove better accuracy.
- Phone and app compatibility: Check supported operating-system versions and the services you use.
- Daily-use features: Compare display, calling, sports modes and health-monitoring specifications that are confirmed for both exact models.
- Battery and water claims: Read the manufacturer’s usage scenarios and exact water-resistance wording; do not treat either as a guaranteed real-world result.
- Local price and stock: Check current listings in your region. Amazfit’s US page has displayed a $59.99–$89.99 range, with variants shown as sold out when indexed; that is not a reliable live price or availability guarantee.
Is the Bip 5 the better buy?
It is the better-documented option here, not a proven overall winner. Amazfit’s listing provides specific positioning, display, feature and battery information, while the exact TOZO product remains unidentified. There is also no evidence here for a fair comparison of GPS accuracy, battery performance or heart-rate tracking. Verify the TOZO model first; without that, choosing between the two by GPS performance is not possible.
