The Trematic T-Five Beigua Maris is a 39 mm diver in Grade 5 titanium, with a 45.5 mm lug-to-lug span, a 13.8 mm total thickness including its domed sapphire crystal, a La Joux-Perret G101 automatic movement and a stated 30 ATM water resistance. On paper it is a genuinely compact skindiver, and its appeal lies in the combination of those features rather than in any one of them. The specifications can show whether it fits the brief. They cannot tell you whether it sits comfortably on your wrist or whether it is worth €1,200 to you.
Trematic spells the model name “Beigua Maris”. Some listings and reviews write it “Beguia Maris”, so if you are searching, try both. This article uses the maker’s spelling.
Dimensions and how the size works on a wrist
Trematic’s official product listing gives the following measurements. These are manufacturer figures; they have not been checked against a physical sample.
| Measurement | Trematic figure |
|---|---|
| Case diameter | 39 mm |
| Lug-to-lug | 45.5 mm |
| Thickness without domed crystal | 11.3 mm |
| Thickness with domed crystal | 13.8 mm |
| Lug width (strap fitting) | 20 mm |
Why lug-to-lug matters more than diameter
Diameter describes the round case; lug-to-lug describes how far the watch reaches across the wrist. At 39 mm the case is modest for a diver, but 45.5 mm is a longer span than the diameter suggests. On a narrow wrist, lugs that run past the edges of the wrist can make a watch look oversized even when the case itself is small. To check this, measure your wrist width where the watch would sit, then compare it with 45.5 mm. If the lugs would overhang that width by a clear margin, expect the watch to look larger than its diameter implies. This is a general rule of thumb, not a measured fit result for this model.

Thickness and the domed crystal
The case is 11.3 mm thick without the crystal and 13.8 mm with it, so the domed sapphire adds 2.5 mm. That added height is the figure that matters under a shirt cuff or jacket sleeve, where the crystal can catch on fabric. The dome also means the glass curves more, which affects how the dial reads from certain angles; the next section covers the coating.
Strap fit at 20 mm
The lug width is 20 mm, and Trematic lists FKM and waterproof textile strap options. A 20 mm strap is therefore the correct width for the lugs, but width alone does not guarantee fit. Before buying a replacement strap, confirm three things: the strap’s lug end matches the 20 mm spacing, the spring-bar length suits the case, and the buckle or closure suits your wrist. Trematic’s warranty excludes straps and bracelets, so treat any aftermarket strap as a separate purchase with its own return terms.

Case, movement and water resistance
The figures below are Trematic’s stated specifications. The sources used here do not include independent timing, water-resistance or durability tests, so none of these should be read as third-party verified.
- Movement: La Joux-Perret G101 Swiss automatic, running at 28,800 vibrations per hour (4 Hz), with 24 jewels and a 68-hour power reserve. A 68-hour reserve means a watch left off overnight and over a weekend will still run on Monday, provided it is not stopped for longer.
- Case: Grade 5 titanium, with sandblasted, polished and brushed areas. Titanium is lighter than steel at the same size, which is part of why a 39 mm case can carry a 13.8 mm total thickness without feeling heavy. Trematic does not publish a weight figure in the material reviewed here.
- Bezel: Unidirectional, 120 clicks, Grade 5 titanium with a matte ceramic insert and luminous material. Unidirectional bezels turn in one direction only, so a timing aid is not easily nudged the wrong way.
- Caseback: Screw-secured, with mixed finishing.
- Crystal: Ultra-domed sapphire with three internal and three external antireflective layers. This is the source of the 2.5 mm added thickness noted above.
- Water resistance: 30 ATM as stated by Trematic. This is a manufacturer rating. The sources here do not document independent dive testing, so treat the rating as the maker’s claim.
Dial options: Shadow, Marina and Desert
Three named colourways are offered. Colour and lume descriptions below are Trematic’s own wording; photographs vary with lighting, and no lume-duration comparison has been published in the sources cited here.

| Colourway | Dial as described by Trematic | Lume as described by Trematic | Price shown on the listing |
|---|---|---|---|
| Marina | Blue | Full-lume, bi-zonal, combining BGW9 and Old Radium tones | €1,200, immediate availability at the time the page was checked |
| Desert | Sand-toned | Full-lume, bi-zonal, combining BGW9 and Old Radium tones | €1,200 on the Desert page |
| Shadow | Grey-to-charcoal | BGW9-lit Lumicast indexes | £1,150 on the UK listing |
The practical difference is the lume. Marina and Desert put luminous material across the dial, while Shadow relies on lit indexes. If night legibility is the priority, the two full-lume dials are the logical choice. If you want a darker, more restrained face and accept less glow, Shadow is the version to consider. Wedge-shaped applied indices and Arabic numerals appear across the range.
Price, shipping and regional terms
- Marina: €1,200 on Trematic’s listing, with immediate availability when the page was checked.
- Desert: €1,200 on its listing.
- Shadow: £1,150 on the UK listing.
The Shadow and Marina prices come from different regional pages in different currencies, so they are not a like-for-like comparison of dial versions. The Marina and Shadow pages state free shipping and say the prices include transport, duties, taxes and VAT under DDP (delivered duty paid) terms. Delivery time depends on destination. Oracle of Time’s March 2026 roundup listed the Marina at £1,150, which is a dated editorial figure and may not match Trematic’s current listing. Prices and stock move, so confirm the figure on the regional page for your country before you order.

Oracle of Time’s March 2026 roundup describes the Shadow, Marina and Desert as 1960s-inflected tool watches and calls the £1,150 price compelling. This is editorial characterisation rather than a measured market comparison.

Mainspring Watch Magazine’s review of the Shadow includes this statement: “I do not wish to claim that no other brand has ever accomplished what Trematic has done with the T-Five Beigua Maris from a technical standpoint, but shoot me, I bet none has ever been able to offer this particular mix of specifications for €1,200/$1,391 USD.” The dollar figure is the conversion the review itself gave, not a current exchange rate. The statement is one reviewer’s opinion, and the sources here do not identify the reviewer by name.
Is it worth €1,200?
As a specification package, the Beigua Maris makes a strong case at that price: a 39 mm case, Grade 5 titanium, a G101 movement with a 68-hour reserve, a unidirectional ceramic-insert bezel and a domed sapphire crystal with antireflective coating. No direct competitor with the same combination is documented in the sources reviewed here, so there is no reliable basis for calling it the best value in its category.
The watch is a reasonable choice if you:
- have a medium-to-small wrist and have confirmed that a 45.5 mm lug-to-lug span sits within its edges;
- want titanium for its weight and want a modern movement with a long reserve;
- prefer full-lume dials, or are content with the lit indexes of Shadow.
It is less suited to you if you have a narrow wrist and cannot tolerate lugs that extend past it, if you need a thin profile under a cuff, or if you require independently documented dive performance. Wear comfort, real-world lume duration and water resistance under pressure are not established by the sources used here, and only handling the watch or reading long-term owner reports will settle them.
