The TWCO Sea Rescue Diver Tactical Model is the black DLC-coated version of the Sea Rescue Diver: a substantial 43 mm automatic diver with a published 600 m water-resistance rating and an unusual dial reference to historical maritime radio-silence periods. Its dimensions and specifications come from a 2016 model announcement; the hands-on observations below are from a reviewer’s 2014 experience with a non-Tactical Sea Rescue Diver, not a test of the black model.
What “Tactical Model” means
TWCO introduced the Tactical Model as a black DLC-coated expansion of the Sea Rescue Diver range. In a March 2, 2016 announcement, Microbrand Watch World quoted owner Robbert Suurland describing it as a “DLC black coated version” of the line. The announcement identifies a 316L stainless-steel case with a DLC coating. The model-specific information available here is historical, rather than confirmation that the watch is still made or sold.

The 2014 WatchReport review of a non-Tactical Sea Rescue Diver reports the same core dimensions, Miyota 9015 movement and 600 m / 1,970 ft rating. That supports the family context, but does not independently establish the Tactical variant’s construction or performance. [WatchReport, 2014]

What the colored dial markers refer to
The green and red three-minute segments are a historical design reference, not current maritime operating guidance. The 2016 introduction explains that the periods refer to radio-silence intervals observed on the hour and half-hour for distress communications: green corresponds to 2182 kHz, and red to the older 500 kHz frequency. WatchReport’s 2014 review also describes the markers as radio-silence periods and quotes TWCO’s explanation of the 2182 kHz interval. These sources do not establish which procedures or frequencies apply to maritime communications today.
What a published reviewer experienced
Ariel Soltura’s 2014 WatchReport review covers a Sea Rescue Diver family example, not the black DLC Tactical Model. Soltura reports that the reviewed watch came with tools including a spring-bar tool and screwdrivers, extra spring bars, and a silicone strap, among other packaging. On the review’s second page, Soltura says bracelet sizing was straightforward with the supplied screwdrivers, the bezel on that particular unit had no play, and the silicone strap attracted lint. Those are useful, attributed observations about one family example—not findings from a Tactical Model test. [WatchReport review, page 2]

Fit and strap considerations
The published 51 mm lug-to-lug length and 43 mm case diameter make fit a key consideration; the stated 15.5 mm thickness also adds height on the wrist. Dimensions alone cannot determine comfort, so compare the lug span and case profile with a watch you already wear, if possible.
The documented lug width is 22 mm, giving owners a clear starting point when shopping for a replacement strap. Confirm the spring-bar diameter and length, buckle compatibility, and clearance at the case before buying. A 22 mm width by itself does not verify that a particular strap is a secure or suitable choice for diving. How to assess it against another tool diver
The available sources do not provide an equally sourced competing-watch comparison, so a ranking would be speculative. Use the Tactical’s published figures as one side of a practical checklist:
- Fit: Compare the 43 mm case, 51 mm lug-to-lug length and 15.5 mm thickness with the other watch’s dimensions.
- Movement: Consider whether you are comfortable with a Miyota 9015 automatic and what local service options exist; current TWCO service and parts arrangements are not established here.
- Bezel and dial: Compare the marked first 20 minutes, luminous zero marker, inner 60-minute ring and radio-silence segments with the other watch’s layout and your intended use.
- Finish and accessories: Check how the black DLC finish, bracelet or strap options, and replacement-part availability meet your needs.
- Water resistance: Compare published ratings, while remembering that a stated rating is not evidence of an individual watch’s present condition or a recent test.
Price and present-day availability
Microbrand Watch World reported launch-era prices in 2016 of €940 including 21% VAT for EU orders and €777 for non-EU orders, with worldwide FedEx shipment stated at the time. These are historical figures, not current prices. The available sources do not establish whether the Tactical Model remains in production, has dealer stock, carries a current warranty, or has an official service or parts path. An older automatic-watch service provider may be relevant to an owner, but no current TWCO-authorized service option is verified here.
