The Typsim 200M and 200M-C share a compact, 39 mm stainless-steel dive-watch platform, but differ in dial color, chronometer certification and listed price. The 200M has a silver-gilt dial and is non-certified; the gold-gilt 200M-C carries Typsim’s stated Besançon certification and Tête de Vipère mark. Both models are currently shown as sold out, and Typsim says the 200M was discontinued in January 2026.
What separates the 200M from the 200M-C?
The distinction is more than a dial-color choice: Typsim presents the 200M-C as the certified version, while the 200M is non-certified. The brand’s current product pages list the 200M at $1,199 and the 200M-C at $1,799. Those are listed prices, also shown as original MSRP in Typsim’s historical brochure—not current resale values. How the Besançon certification claim works
Typsim says complete 200M-C watches are adjusted in Seattle for more than 21 days, then tested at the Observatoire de Besançon for 15 days in five positions and three temperatures under ISO 3159-2009. The brand says that process results in the Tête de Vipère mark. These are Typsim’s descriptions of its testing and certification; an independent Observatory record for this specific model was not established. Typsim 200M-C product page.
Shared case, dimensions and movement
Both watches use a stainless-steel case with a listed 39 mm diameter, 41 mm bezel, 47.5 mm lug-to-lug measurement and 20 mm lug width. Typsim’s current product pages give the height as 12.7 mm. An older brochure lists 13.4 mm for both, so the published height varies by source and version; consult the specific watch’s documentation if that measurement affects fit. The movement in each is a Sellita SW300-1 automatic caliber, with a listed 42-hour power reserve. Typsim describes the 200M as non-certified and chronometer-grade; for the 200M-C, the brand lists chronometer certification. The shared movement and dimensions mean certification, rather than a different case or caliber, is the main mechanical distinction in Typsim’s descriptions.
Vintage details and everyday wear
Typsim describes both models with domed optical acrylic crystals, drilled lugs, luminous markers and a five-link riveted bracelet. These details build a deliberately vintage-styled look around a modern automatic movement and a 200 m water-resistance rating. The visual choice is straightforward: silver gilt on the 200M, gold gilt on the 200M-C. The certification distinction is separate from that styling choice.

Both have a 20 mm lug width and drilled lugs, making a strap change a plausible option. Those measurements alone do not establish that any particular strap or attachment will fit; check the watch and strap’s compatibility before buying. Typsim 200M; Typsim 200M-C.
