Ultrahuman’s Heart Scan lets Ring Air and Ring Pro owners request a 60-second heart-rhythm spot check in the app. It is different from the brand’s overnight AFib Detection PowerPlug: Heart Scan is user-initiated, while the PowerPlug monitors during sleep. A scan can flag a possible irregularity, but it is not a diagnosis or an ECG.
What Ultrahuman Heart Scan does
Heart Scan is an on-demand feature for the Ultrahuman Ring Air and Ring Pro, according to Wareable’s October 7, 2026 report. Start a scan when you want to check your rhythm; it takes 60 seconds. Ultrahuman’s official post also describes a 60-second scan powered by FibriCheck.

How a scan works
For the reading, the ring’s optical photoplethysmography (PPG) sensors capture pulse signals while you hold still. FibriCheck’s CE-marked algorithm (identified by Wareable as CE 1639) analyzes the signal for a regular rhythm, possible AFib, or other potential irregularities. This is pulse-signal analysis; the feature should not be described as recording an ECG.
What the report can include
Wareable reports that the app can create a PDF containing a raw pulse trace, tachogram, and Lorenz plot. You can share that information with a doctor as context for a conversation, but it is not a clinical diagnosis.

How Heart Scan differs from overnight AFib Detection
Heart Scan and the AFib Detection PowerPlug use different sampling patterns. Heart Scan is a spot check you start yourself; the PowerPlug samples rhythm overnight. Ultrahuman announced its overnight PowerPlug in July 2024.

These features are not clinically interchangeable: one gives a requested snapshot and the other samples overnight. Ultrahuman described the AFib Detection PowerPlug as intended for general wellness in its 2026 Ring Pro announcement.

Who can use Heart Scan, and where
Wareable reported the feature in 37 markets, including the UK, EU, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, and Australia, as of October 7, 2026. That is a reported rollout, not a guarantee of availability in every country. Check your local app and region before relying on access.
The same report listed requirements of iOS app version 4.3.0 or later and Android 3.2.0.0 or later. The Ultrahuman iOS App Store version history later lists Heart Scan in version 4.3.1, including starting a scan through Quick Scans, logging symptoms, and revisiting past scans. App requirements and availability can change, so confirm the current version and feature access in your app.

How to start an on-demand scan
- Open the Ultrahuman app on a compatible Ring Air or Ring Pro setup in a supported region.
- Open Quick Scans and select Heart Scan. The iOS version history lists Quick Scans as a route; exact current labels may vary by app version.
- Hold still for the 60-second reading while the ring captures pulse signals.
- Review the result and, if useful, save or share the available PDF report with a qualified healthcare professional.
What a result can—and cannot—tell you
A possible irregularity flag is a screening signal, not proof that you have AFib or another heart condition. The FDA’s general overview of wearable cardiovascular notifications says such wearables are not intended to provide diagnoses. That guidance is general, not a product-specific evaluation or confirmation of clearance or authorization for Heart Scan.
The cited sources do not establish Heart Scan’s independent clinical accuracy, sensitivity, or specificity, and they do not show that a normal or unflagged reading rules out a heart problem. If you have concerning symptoms or receive a concerning result, contact a qualified healthcare professional rather than relying on the ring to evaluate or exclude a condition.
