UNIMATIC’s Modello Due U2-GMT is the first GMT version of its field-watch line: a 38 mm brushed-steel watch with a black-and-white dial, date at 6 and an automatic GMT movement. Its “World Timer” nickname needs a qualification: it has no city ring. Instead, its independently adjustable 24-hour hand tracks a second time zone in caller-GMT fashion.
What is the U2-GMT “World Timer”?
The UNIMATIC Modello Due U2-GMT, reference UWK-U2-GMT, was announced on October 16, 2025. It is the first GMT variant of the Modello Due field-watch design, combining a restrained black-and-white display with a fourth hand for a second time zone. UNIMATIC limited the edition to 300 individually numbered watches.
Despite the “World Timer” nickname used in release coverage, this is not a conventional world-time watch. There is no city ring or set of city names to align with the time. The extra hand points to a 24-hour scale and can be adjusted independently, making it a caller-style GMT.
How does the GMT hand work?
The NH34A movement’s fourth hand completes one rotation every 24 hours and reads against the dial’s 24-hour scale. Set that hand to the time in another time zone, then use the main hour and minute hands for local time. The GMT hand is independently adjustable, so the second time zone can be changed without moving the main local-time display.

This is a caller-style GMT, not a traveler- or flyer-style GMT. A traveler GMT is designed to adjust local time in one-hour steps while keeping the reference-time hand running; that is not the setting arrangement described for the U2-GMT. The 24-hour hand is useful for tracking another zone, but the absence of a city ring means the wearer must know the time-zone offset and account for daylight-saving changes.

The case measurements are worth reading together: the stated 12.7 mm excludes the domed crystal, while 15.7 mm is the maximum thickness including it. The 47.5 mm lug-to-lug measurement and 22 mm lug width may also help when judging fit or considering straps.

Design and wear details
The U2-GMT keeps the Modello Due’s compact field-watch proportions and high-contrast layout. White markings and luminous hands and markers are set against a matte black dial; the date sits at 6, with the 24-hour scale providing a distinct track for the GMT hand. The double-domed sapphire crystal has anti-reflective coating on its inner surface.
UNIMATIC specifies a brushed stainless-steel case, an 8 mm screw-down crown and drilled 22 mm lugs. The supplied charcoal-gray TPU strap tapers from 22 mm at the lugs to 20 mm at the buckle and uses quick-release spring bars. A replacement strap needs to suit the watch’s 22 mm lug width and fit the case correctly; quick-release compatibility should be confirmed rather than assumed.

Price and availability
At launch on October 16, 2025, Fratello reported a price of €850 including taxes, while Hodinkee reported $950. These are launch prices reported by those publications, not current exchange-rate conversions or resale valuations. UNIMATIC’s product page currently labels the watch “sold out.” Current new-stock availability elsewhere and secondary-market pricing are not established by those checked listings.

The U2-GMT’s most consequential distinction is its caller-style setting. When comparing it with another GMT, check how its second time zone is adjusted before comparing case size or price. Other useful points are:
