What is the Urban Jürgensen UJ-3?
The UJ-3 was one of three watches in Urban Jürgensen’s 2025 relaunch collection, presented as its perpetual-calendar model. The brand’s June 2025 launch material describes a collaboration involving Kari Voutilainen and Andreas Strehler, bringing together the renewed collection’s leadership and Strehler’s contribution to the calendar and moon-phase architecture. The watch combines date, day, month and moon-phase indications. The calendar and moon-phase displays are reported to jump instantaneously at midnight, while a leap-year indicator is located on the movement side. The UJ-3 is manually wound rather than automatic.
How accurate is the UJ-3 moon phase?
Urban Jürgensen states that the moon-phase indication is accurate to one day in 14,000 years. That is the manufacturer’s technical claim, not a result of independent long-term testing. The figure describes the claimed error rate of the moon-phase display; it should not be confused with the watch’s overall timekeeping accuracy, for which the launch material cited here provides no measured result.

How does the perpetual calendar work?
A perpetual calendar is designed to account for the different lengths of months and the leap-year cycle without requiring the wearer to correct the date at the end of each month. For the UJ-3, the launch report describes an integrated calendar with date, day and month indications, plus a leap-year indication on the movement side. It also reports instantaneous calendar changes at midnight.
Urban Jürgensen says the UJ-3 was the first serially produced perpetual calendar to use the brand’s double-wheel natural escapement. Treat “first” as the maker’s description of its own technical distinction, rather than an independently verified industry-wide ranking. Europa Star carries the brand’s launch claims; SJX Watches’ 6 June 2025 report describes the calendar displays and movement.

What are the UJ-3’s dimensions and movement specifications?
SJX reported two black-dial precious-metal versions at launch. The following figures are launch-report specifications, not independently measured results:

At 13.9 mm thick, the case is a meaningful consideration for anyone choosing a dress-oriented perpetual calendar; the figure alone does not establish how it will sit on a particular wrist. SJX also noted a legibility concern in its review: the date and seconds share a register, and the reviewer found their hands similar in color and length. That is an attributed design assessment, not a universal judgment.

How much does the Urban Jürgensen UJ-3 cost?
SJX reported a launch-era price of CHF 168,000 excluding taxes and said the watch was available directly from Urban Jürgensen. This is reporting from the 2025 launch, not a current quotation. The brand’s UJ-3 collection page continues to present the model and offers inquiry routes, but a product page does not establish live inventory, delivery timing or a binding price. Contact the brand to confirm current price, applicable taxes, availability and delivery.
