Vacheron Constantin’s Certified Pre-Owned (CPO) programme gives buyers a pre-owned watch sold through an authorized reseller, inspected and serviced by a Vacheron Constantin watchmaker, with an international warranty of at least two years. The Maison announced the programme in November 2024 with Watchfinder as its launch collaborator. Its current public terms describe the trust package, but do not establish a complete list of participating sellers by country.

What Vacheron Constantin’s CPO programme includes

Vacheron Constantin says each programme watch is inspected by one of its watchmakers and serviced accordingly. The Maison’s official Certified Pre-Owned page states: “The Certified Pre-Owned programme ensures that each timepiece is carefully inspected by a Vacheron Constantin watchmaker and serviced accordingly.” It also says the programme certifies that the watch functions properly and conforms to the Maison’s quality standards.

Warranty and accompanying materials

Each certified watch comes with an international warranty of at least two years. The stated physical materials are a programme seal, guarantee letter, physical warranty card and pouch. Vacheron Constantin also provides a digital passport for direct access to key information about the watch.

What the digital passport tells you

The current service page confirms the passport, but does not specify its technology or list all of its contents. In its November 28, 2024 announcement, the Federation of the Swiss Watch Industry said the passport was based on blockchain technology and included key information such as ownership history and a technical manual. Those details are from the launch announcement; the current programme page does not repeat them.

When the programme launched—and who was involved

The Federation of the Swiss Watch Industry published its launch announcement on November 28, 2024, describing the programme as launched worldwide with Watchfinder, a longstanding Vacheron Constantin partner. The Maison’s launch post on LinkedIn also named Watchfinder.

At launch, Vacheron Constantin said it planned to extend the programme to other authorized retailers and auction houses. That was a stated plan, not confirmation that every such channel is now participating. Richemont’s Annual Report and Accounts 2025 later described the service as a new addition to Vacheron Constantin’s offering, with carefully inspected and certified watches and a minimum two-year warranty.

Where to buy a Vacheron Constantin CPO watch

The programme is for pre-owned Vacheron Constantin watches sold through authorized resellers. Watchfinder is the named launch collaborator, so it is a practical place to check, but its current inventory and availability depend on location. The available public terms do not establish a complete, current roster of participating sellers by market.

Before buying, confirm directly with the seller that the specific watch is being sold under Vacheron Constantin’s CPO programme—not merely described as certified or inspected by the retailer. Ask who is authorized to sell it, what documents and passport access accompany that individual watch, and how to verify the warranty. The launch announcement’s plan to add retailers and auction houses should not be treated as proof of current participation.

How to compare a CPO watch with another pre-owned offer

The programme’s stated inspection, servicing, warranty and materials give buyers concrete points to compare. They do not answer every question about a particular watch or transaction.

  • Seller authorization: Verify the seller’s status and that the specific listing is included in the Maison’s programme.
  • Inspection and service: Ask what service was performed and what documentation is supplied. Vacheron Constantin does not publish a detailed inspection checklist in the cited programme terms.
  • Warranty: The published minimum is two years internationally. Ask for the exact warranty duration, coverage, exclusions and start date for the watch you are considering.
  • Passport and provenance: Confirm how you will access the digital passport and what information is available for that watch. The launch announcement mentions ownership history, but the current service page does not provide a complete field-by-field description.
  • Paperwork and accessories: Confirm that the seal, guarantee letter, physical warranty card and pouch are included with the particular offer.
  • Price and returns: Compare the asking price and the seller’s return terms separately. The published programme terms do not set a universal CPO price premium or return policy.

The public terms also do not state a universal age or eligibility rule for watches, promise a resale value, or provide programme-performance statistics. Treat those as seller- and watch-specific questions rather than assuming CPO status settles them.
