But those launch-era claims do not establish how accurately it tracked activity or whether its app, firmware and support still work today. Treat it as legacy hardware unless a seller can demonstrate a functioning watch and current phone pairing.
What was the VIITA TITAN HRV?
VIITA Watches, an Austrian company, positioned the TITAN HRV as a sports smartwatch with upscale watch materials and a focus on heart-rate variability (HRV), recovery and training. It was announced in 2018 and promoted through crowdfunding. Some technical documentation calls it the “VIITA Active Titan HRV”; that is a naming variation for this model, not an unrelated watch bearing the Titan name. The FCC-hosted guide documents the device’s specifications, while contemporary coverage describes its launch claims. Neither establishes present-day sales or support. How are the materials and size in practice?
The launch materials described a titanium case, zirconia ceramic (ZrO₂) bezel, sapphire-glass touchscreen and aircraft-aluminum back cover. The FCC guide lists a 46 mm diameter, 15.9 mm thickness and 90 g weight, with a wristband fit for wrists up to 200 mm in circumference. - Sapphire: Resists scratching better than ordinary watch glass, but can still crack or chip after an impact.
- Ceramic: Hard and scratch-resistant, yet vulnerable to chips or cracks from sharp knocks.
- Titanium: Light and corrosion-resistant, though the alloy grade and surface treatment affect finish and scratch behavior. Launch descriptions such as “aviation standard” should not be read as proof of a regulated consumer-grade certification.
- Wearability: At 46 mm, 15.9 mm thick and 90 g, it is a substantial watch. It may feel bulky on a smaller wrist, under a cuff, during long runs or while sleeping.
Premium construction says little by itself about sensor accuracy, repairability, software quality or long-term support.

What does the 10 ATM rating mean?
VIITA documented water resistance to 10 ATM, commonly expressed in watch-industry shorthand as approximately 100 m or 330 ft. That pressure designation is not a promise that the watch is safe to use at a depth of 100 metres. Contemporary launch coverage described swimming and ordinary water exposure, but no ISO 6425 dive-watch certification is established by the available documentation. What health and training features did VIITA claim?
The guide and launch coverage list continuous heart-rate and HRV measurement, stress and regeneration insights, sleep tracking, steps, calorie estimates, silent alarm, notifications and individual training recommendations. The guide also names “My Challenge” and “My Sets.” GPS and GLONASS were specified for activity tracking. These were marketed as wellness and training tools, not medical measurements. Heart rate, HRV and recovery
Heart rate is the number of beats per minute. HRV describes variation in the time between heartbeats; its interpretation depends on measurement conditions. Stress and recovery scores are algorithmic interpretations of wearable data, not direct clinical measurements. Optical readings can be affected by tattoos, sweat, wrist hair, water, cold, loose contact and wrist movement or force—for example, during boxing or volleyball. If the sensor data are poor, the insights built from them may be unreliable. The guide does not establish medical-grade HRV accuracy or independent validation of the TITAN HRV’s scores. Hydration estimate, not a dehydration sensor
VIITA promoted a water-consumption or hydration indicator, but it was not a direct measurement of blood or tissue hydration. In a contemporary interview, the company explained that the system estimated how much the wearer should have consumed using inputs such as movement, heart rate, HRV and activity; it could not tell a user in real time how dehydrated they were. Do not treat that estimate as a clinical assessment or a substitute for responding to thirst, conditions and medical advice. (Wareable)

Wareable reported that the watch supported GPS activity tracking for 19 sports, with speed, distance, time, heart rate and calorie metrics. The complete sport list is not established in the accessible guide, so the number should be understood as a contemporary launch claim rather than a fully documented menu. The FCC guide specifies GPS/GLONASS, a TFT LCD touchscreen at 320 × 290 pixels, a 530 mAh lithium-ion battery and a proprietary operating system based on Nucleus RTOS. VIITA’s launch-period battery claim was up to two weeks, including continuous heart-rate or HRV measurement. That is an estimate, not an independently measured result in the available evidence. GPS use, screen activity, notifications, measurement frequency, temperature and battery age can change runtime. A proprietary operating system may support a focused interface and long runtime, but it also makes continued use more dependent on the maker’s app, firmware and services.

Different campaigns and timing account for the differing figures. They should not be used to estimate the value or condition of a used unit today.
How much confidence should you put in the launch claims?
The FCC-hosted guide is useful for what the device was specified to contain, including size, display, battery and sensor-related cautions. Contemporary articles and company statements document what VIITA promised around launch. The available material does not establish independent HRV or GPS accuracy, battery life under controlled testing, water-resistance test results, long-term durability, the practical usefulness of hydration recommendations, or current app support. Can you buy and use a TITAN HRV today?
Current official sales, app availability, firmware status, phone compatibility, warranty coverage and replacement parts could not be verified. VIITA advertised iOS and Android compatibility at launch, but that does not establish support for current operating-system versions. Before paying for a used or old-stock unit, ask the seller to demonstrate the specific watch rather than relying on launch specifications:
- Can the companion app still be downloaded, and will it pair with your phone?
- Can you complete setup, account creation and any cloud synchronization the features require?
- Does the battery hold charge, and is the correct charging cable or dock included?
- Are firmware updates, straps and service parts available?
- Does the seller offer a return period if pairing, charging or core functions fail?
- If you plan to swim with it, can you establish its service history and condition? A launch rating alone cannot confirm the state of an old unit’s seals.
These are purchase checks, not claims that every unit has failed. The age of the product and the unverified support situation make proof of working hardware and software more important than its original feature list.

Who should consider it—and what should they compare?
The TITAN HRV may appeal to a collector or technically curious buyer who specifically wants its materials and is comfortable testing legacy hardware. For a watch to train with now, compare currently supported ecosystems rather than assuming that a 2018 launch alternative remains equivalent:
- Garmin running and multisport watches are a place to compare current sports-watch ecosystems.
- COROS is positioned around endurance training and battery life.
- Polar is relevant for heart-rate and recovery-focused training.
- Suunto is relevant for outdoor and navigation use.
- Apple Watch offers a broad smartwatch and phone ecosystem, but is a poor fit if multi-day battery life or Android compatibility is the priority.
