Viita Titan HRV Smartwatch: What Happened to the 2018 Wearable?

The Viita Titan HRV paired luxury materials with ambitious HRV and fitness claims in 2018. Its current support is uncertain, so verify any used unit carefully.

The Viita Titan HRV was a real Austrian smartwatch launched through crowdfunding in 2018, built around premium materials and an ambitious promise: continuous heart-rate variability tracking, training guidance and up to two weeks of battery life. Those were historical product claims, not proof of dependable performance. Today the Titan appears discontinued or effectively unavailable, and its app, firmware and phone support are uncertain. It may interest a collector, but it is a risky choice for everyday training unless a seller can demonstrate that the specific watch still works.

Viita Titan HRV at a glance

Detail What is established
Product and period Viita Titan HRV, an Austrian smartwatch introduced in 2018.
Materials claimed Grade-1 titanium case, zirconia ceramic bezel and sapphire-crystal touchscreen, according to campaign-era product material.
Health and sport claims 24/7 HRV measurement, health screening, training recommendations, hydration estimates and integrated GPS/GLONASS were advertised features.
Water resistance Advertised as 10 ATM; this historical rating does not establish the condition of an aged or repaired used watch.
Battery Viita claimed up to two weeks, including 24/7 HRV measurement. That maximum was not independently verified in the available evidence.
Software and phones Proprietary operating system based on Nucleus RTOS; historical material claimed iOS and Android compatibility. Current app and operating-system compatibility are unverified.
Historical prices Campaign-era offers were reported at about €259–€279 or $329, depending on source, currency and offer. Approximately €699 or $819 appeared as reference pricing, not evidence of a sustained normal retail price.
Current status A specialist retailer marks it unavailable; dependable current official stock and support are not established.

Historical specifications and campaign positioning are documented by Fratello Watches and campaign-era press material. The prices should not be read as current offers.

What the Titan HRV was—and why it stood out

Viita positioned the Titan HRV as a luxury-styled alternative to mainstream smartwatches: metal and ceramic construction paired with fitness and health software. “HRV” was central to its identity. The product sat within a broader Viita wearable portfolio that included the Race HRV, Hybrid HRV and Vitalmonitor; a historical portfolio page lists Titan HRV as a 2018 smartwatch, but does not establish present-day company support (portfolio listing).

That distinction matters when shopping listings: Titan HRV is not interchangeable with the similarly named Viita Active Titan or other Viita models. An FCC document, for example, is for the Active Titan and should not be used to establish Titan HRV specifications (Active Titan document).

Materials, water rating and hardware

The headline hardware claims were a Grade-1 titanium case, zirconia ceramic bezel and sapphire-crystal touchscreen, with an aircraft-aluminum rear cover also cited in historical material. GPS and GLONASS were advertised for location tracking. These specifications explain the watch’s premium positioning, but they do not answer whether an old unit’s battery, sensors, charger or software still function.

The original 10 ATM rating is not a safe-use guarantee for a used watch. Seals age, and opening or damage can compromise water resistance. Unless the particular watch has been inspected and pressure-tested recently, do not assume it is safe for swimming or other water exposure.

What HRV can—and cannot—tell you

Heart-rate variability is the variation in time between successive heartbeats. Wearables use HRV as one possible signal related to recovery and autonomic regulation, but readings are sensitive to measurement conditions, including posture, sleep, illness, alcohol, stress, exercise load and sensor quality. Consistent measurements and personal trends are generally more useful than treating one reading as a verdict.

For the Titan, the advertised 24/7 HRV feature should be kept distinct from several related but different functions:

  • All-in-One Health Hub: Functions as a 24-hour continuous heart rate monitor with heart rate variability and respiratory rate tracking, a blood oxygen monitor, stress tracker, step counter (See note 2), sleep tracker, calorie counter, period tracker and breathing exercise device.
  • Unleash Your Full Potential: The Body Battery function helps you achieve an ideal balance of activity and recovery. By utilizing heart rate variability, stress, sleep, and activity data, it estimates your energy reserve throughout the day. A high body energy score empowers you for an active day, while a lower score signals it's time for relaxation.
  • Elevate Your Connectivity: Ask questions, set alarms, check the weather, control your smart home devices, and much more with Alexa. Additionally, Octandra Inspire Pedometer Watch lets you effortlessly answer and make calls via Bluetooth, view text messages, and receive notifications from social apps directly on your wrist.
  • Heart-rate measurement estimates pulse rate; it is not itself an HRV result.
  • HRV measurement estimates beat-to-beat timing variation. The available sources do not establish independent laboratory validation of the Titan’s readings.
  • Stress or recovery scores and training recommendations are software interpretations, not diagnoses.
  • Hydration estimates are not direct measurements of fluid intake.

“Real-time health screening” was marketing language, not evidence of medical-grade monitoring. The Titan should not be treated as an ECG, a clinical arrhythmia detector or a substitute for medical assessment.

Battery, GPS, connectivity and owner reports

Viita advertised up to two weeks of battery life, but the figure is a campaign-era maximum rather than a verified runtime for every use pattern or surviving unit. Preserved owner feedback is mixed: some users praised the finish and one report described roughly two weeks of use, while others reported much shorter battery life. The same retailer page includes anecdotal complaints about Bluetooth disconnections, slow or unreliable GPS, inconsistent heart-rate readings, sport functions, data export and HRV functionality (retailer listing and owner comments).

These comments are individual experiences, not controlled testing or proof that all watches have the same faults. They do, however, make software and service status central to a purchase decision. Current firmware availability, account services, data export, replacement batteries and strap parts are not established. Historical claims of iOS and Android compatibility do not confirm that the app still installs, pairs, syncs in the background or works on current phone software.

Crowdfunding is not the same as a mature retail launch

Viita launched a Kickstarter campaign in September 2018. Campaign-era press coverage said it was fully funded very quickly, and promotional materials used different early prices and reference prices. A fast funding result demonstrates that backers were interested; it does not validate measurement accuracy, delivery timelines, long-term app support or current serviceability. The figures are historical and should not be treated as current prices or buying offers. See the period coverage at Presseportal and the campaign video.

Is the Viita Titan HRV still available?

The available evidence supports treating the Titan HRV as discontinued or effectively unavailable, rather than as a current smartwatch recommendation. A specialist retailer marks the model unavailable, and the sources establishing its product specifications are historical. They do not establish a dependable current official sales channel, warranty, customer support, firmware updates or replacement parts. Used listings may appear, but each unit’s condition and functionality need individual verification.

Used-buying checklist

Before paying, establish that the watch and its phone connection work now—not merely that the listing repeats old specifications.

Before you pay

  • Confirm the exact model is Titan HRV, not Active Titan, Race HRV, Hybrid HRV or another Viita device.
  • Ask for a current photo or video showing the watch powered on; check the touchscreen, buttons, optical sensor and charging contacts.
  • Require the original charger and ask the seller to demonstrate Bluetooth pairing with a current iPhone or Android phone. Check the app version, login or account process, syncing and any available data export.
  • Ask for evidence of actual battery runtime. Do not rely on the original two-week claim.
  • Test GPS outdoors and inspect the sapphire crystal, ceramic bezel, caseback and contacts for damage or corrosion.
  • Confirm the strap and any proprietary attachment parts are included and usable.
  • Use a payment method and seller arrangement that provide return protection where possible.

After purchase

  • Pair and sync the watch before relying on it for training records.
  • Try a short outdoor GPS activity and compare exercise heart-rate readings with a known-good chest strap or another wearable.
  • Treat HRV as a personal trend, not a medical result.
  • Do not rely on the historical water rating unless the individual watch has been inspected and its water resistance verified.

Who should consider it—and who should look elsewhere?

The Titan can make sense as an unusual smartwatch collectible or for a buyer who values its physical design, can test it in person and accepts the possibility of obsolete software. It is a poor fit for athletes who need reliable HRV trends, GPS tracks or workout records; for people who need current notifications, broad app support or phone services; and for anyone seeking medical-grade cardiac monitoring.

For a current purchase, compare by the job you need done rather than by the Titan’s material list. Official product pages are useful starting points, but check current models, regional availability, prices, compatibility and any subscription terms before buying.

Alternative Better suited to Difference from the Titan
Apple Watch Broad smartwatch functions, notifications and an iPhone-focused health ecosystem. A current software ecosystem; Apple-centric, with battery life that is generally shorter than the Titan’s advertised maximum.
Garmin wearables GPS training, sports profiles and endurance use. A more established sports platform and ongoing product ecosystem.
Polar Training and recovery analysis. More exercise- and recovery-focused than luxury-materials-focused.
COROS Endurance training, GPS and long battery life. A sport-first platform rather than a luxury-watch proposition.
Oura Ring Sleep and recovery trends in a discreet form factor. A ring rather than a smartwatch; assess its app and subscription terms.
Chest strap plus training app Exercise heart-rate capture where convenience and wristwatch styling matter less. Requires a separate strap, but avoids relying on an old wrist optical sensor for exercise capture.

For a collector, the Titan HRV is a real and distinctive piece of crowdfunding-era wearable history. For dependable daily fitness tracking, its uncertain present-day software and support make a currently supported watch the safer choice.
