Fratello Watches reviewed three leather straps in 2023, rather than Atelier Romane’s full collection. The comparison below reflects the review’s descriptions and Ferenczi’s impressions of the samples he received.

How does an Atelier Romane strap feel?
The review’s clearest comfort comments concern the taurillon and deer straps. Ferenczi said the taurillon felt supple and needed no break-in, and that the deer leather felt even softer. These are personal impressions from his samples; the review does not report controlled comfort or durability tests, so they should not be read as a guarantee of how every strap will wear.

The whiskey calfskin description focuses on its look rather than a comparative comfort assessment. The review does not rank the three for longevity or establish which leather will age best.
How do you choose the right width and length?
Match the strap’s lug-end width to the distance between your watch’s lugs. Check the exact model listing: width options vary by strap, so the range for one design is not a universal Atelier Romane sizing rule. Also select a length that suits your wrist; the sources do not provide a universal wrist-size conversion for the listed lengths.

What does Atelier Romane say about how its straps are made?
On the current product pages cited above, Atelier Romane describes the straps as made in France. The black rally taurillon page says straps are made to order in the brand’s workshop. These are the maker’s statements, not independently audited production claims. The product pages also state, “please note that Atelier Romane is not affiliated with any brand.”

Who might prefer each style?
Blue racing taurillon
Consider this option if you want a blue, racing-inspired look and the watch’s lug width matches the available size. The reviewed sample’s quick-release spring bars may make strap changes convenient, but confirm the hardware on the exact listing you plan to buy.
Brown deer leather
The brown strap’s burgundy undertone and minimal grain make it a subtler choice than the racing design. Its leather was the softest of the two straps Ferenczi directly compared, based on his impressions.
