The same U.S. FAQ lists these situations as chargeable. A problem occurring within the warranty period does not by itself mean the repair is covered.
- Replacement of leather, urethane, or fabric bands.
- Case, glass, or band trouble or damage caused by an accident or improper use.
- Trouble or damage caused by repairs performed outside Seiko’s service network.
- Scratches or grime resulting from use.
- Damage caused by natural disasters, including fire, floods, or earthquakes.
- Battery replacement.
- Band adjustment at a store other than the store where the watch was purchased.

Does limited-edition status change the warranty?
The official Seiko materials cited here do not describe a special warranty rule for limited-edition watches. That does not establish that every limited edition has identical terms. Seiko Japan’s provisions specify a three-year term from purchase for products sold in Japan on or after October 1, 2024. Products sold in Japan from July 1 through September 30, 2024 receive a three-year term when presented to a repair site. The same provisions list five years for Grand Seiko and Credor and different terms for certain other categories, underscoring that these figures are Japan-specific and not a universal Seiko rule. Keep the warranty card and check the seller
Seiko Japan says warranty documents are not reissued and advises owners to keep them. Its provisions also say that Seiko-brand watches purchased in Japan may be covered overseas under the warranty card, while noting that overseas warranty details can differ from domestic terms. Confirm the conditions with Seiko for the service country rather than assuming that Japanese and overseas coverage match.

Seiko’s U.S. internet-purchase warning recommends buying from authorized dealers. The page, dated June 2013, warns that some non-authorized online sellers offer counterfeit, used, or tampered watches, and that some do not provide the original Seiko international warranty or after-sales service.
