Which Purnell watches does Usher wear?
Time+Tide writer Zach Blass identified Usher’s watches as two color versions of the Purnell Escape II Forged Carbon Escape: one yellow and one green. The article describes them as the same model with different color accents; it does not report different movements or specifications between the two.
Blass also reported that Usher was not a paid brand ambassador and had acquired the watches organically. That is the article’s 2021 account, not an independently verified statement from Usher or Purnell.
What makes the watches unusual?
The feature that defines the Escape II is its double triple-axis tourbillon. In the 2021 article’s description, two tourbillon mechanisms use rotating cages to change the orientation of the balance assemblies across three axes. Blass reported titanium “spherion” cages with rotation times of eight seconds for the inner cage, 16 seconds for the secondary cage and 30 seconds for the outer cage. Time+Tide characterized Purnell as “holding the record of the fastest rotating double triple-axis tourbillon in the world.” This is the article’s record claim, not a current record independently confirmed here.

How the case and dial are arranged

Time+Tide listed CHF 430,000 as the base price in 2021. The same article’s headline described the pair as worth more than $450,000, but that does not establish a current conversion, valuation or selling price. Current availability and pricing have not been verified, so neither figure should be read as what a buyer would pay today.
