About Effing Time is a watch-focused podcast and filmed show hosted by Andrew McUtchen, Adrian Barker, and George Bamford. It began after the three met at Watches and Wonders 2022 and recorded an impromptu video together. McUtchen was part of the project because he already knew Barker and had made watch collaborations with Bamford; their first on-camera conversation convinced them to make more.
What is About Effing Time?
It is a conversational show about watches—not a watch brand. The three hosts discuss releases, brand visits, the watch community, and decisions about what to buy. Early episode ideas included watches they wanted but could not justify purchasing, things they disliked about watches, and a humorous discussion about Rolex.
The project was designed to be watched as well as heard. McUtchen said visual details and activity on set might not come across in audio alone. A 2023 episode description also recalls that the original idea was for the hosts to talk watches on a podcast, and that filming the conversation expanded the concept.
Why is Andrew McUtchen part of the show?
McUtchen is one of its three hosts. He said he and Adrian Barker had known of one another for some time, while he had also made watch collaborations with George Bamford. When all three were together at Watches and Wonders 2022, they filmed an impromptu, one-take video. Viewers encouraged them to do it again, and the group decided to set aside time for more.

As McUtchen put it, “When we were in the same place at the same time, at long last, it was just on.” He said this in a June 28, 2022 interview with Time+Tide US Editor Zach Blass.
Who else makes the show?
- Adrian Barker and George Bamford are McUtchen’s co-hosts.
- Marcus Flack, Time+Tide’s long-time creative director, worked behind the camera as director and camera operator. McUtchen called him the project’s “fifth Beatle.”
Where did it appear, and how often did it release?
At launch in 2022, McUtchen announced a new episode every two weeks, with video planned for YouTube and video-enabled Spotify. That was the launch-era schedule, not a current release promise: Apple Podcasts lists the show’s active years as 2022–2023 and its archive at 45 episodes.
