What links the two is a film partnership that OMEGA dates to GoldenEye (1995), and a design lineage that runs from the Bond films into the modern Diver 300M collection. The specific watch Bond wears changes from film to film, so the honest answer is that the Diver 300M is a Bond-associated family rather than the Bond watch itself.
Where the Bond association starts
OMEGA’s own Bond history page dates the brand’s first appearance on Bond’s wrist to GoldenEye in 1995. It describes the spy and Seamaster watches as associated on every mission since. That is a franchise-level statement about the Seamaster line, not a claim that one reference appears in every film.
Swatch Group’s 2012 retrospective on the Skyfall watch credits Oscar-winning costume designer Lindy Hemming with introducing the brand to Bond. It describes the character as “a naval man and a discreet gentleman of the world.” Treat that as the group’s own account of the choice. The article does not independently confirm the reasoning behind it.
Film by film, the watch is not fixed
The table below lists only what the cited sources establish. Where a source does not name the model, the cell says so.

- Omega Seamaster Automatic Chronometer Black Dial Men's Watch 210.30.42.20.01.001
| Film (year) | Watch named in the cited sources | Relationship to the Seamaster Diver 300M |
|---|---|---|
| GoldenEye (1995) | An OMEGA Seamaster. The specific model is not identified in the sources reviewed. | Not stated |
| Skyfall (2012) | Seamaster Planet Ocean 600M, per Swatch Group’s 2012 retrospective | Not a Diver 300M. The Planet Ocean is a separate OMEGA collection. |
| No Time to Die (2021) | Not named as the watch worn in the sources cited here | OMEGA’s 2024 Diver 300M update drew design cues from the 007 Edition worn in this film |
The gap between “Bond wears a Seamaster” and “Bond wears a Diver 300M” is the central point of confusion. Only the second statement would be a model-level claim, and the sources do not make it for any film.
What the Diver 300M actually borrows from Bond
OMEGA dates the Seamaster Diver 300M collection to 1993. Its November 21, 2024 announcement introduced a new range of 42 mm watches. OMEGA says those watches took their domed sapphire crystal and mesh-bracelet style from the 007 Edition worn in No Time to Die.

The same announcement names features it presents as part of the Diver 300M family:
- A wave-pattern dial
- Skeletonized hands
- A helium escape valve at 10 o’clock
These are family-level design details. They do not mean every Diver 300M reference is a Bond edition, and they do not mean any Diver 300M was screen-used.

- Omega Seamaster Automatic Black Dial Men's Watch 210.32.42.20.01.001
The 2026 James Bond and Spectre collection
OMEGA’s October 2026 announcement introduced the Seamaster Diver 300M James Bond and Spectre collection. It is the clearest current example of a branded Bond Diver 300M. All six watches in the collection are 42 mm and use Calibre 8806.
The collection has two parts. Each of the James Bond and Spectre limited-edition sets is numbered to 77. Each set contains one stainless-steel watch and one platinum-gold model, and the watches in a set are not sold separately. The stainless-steel Bond and Spectre editions are also listed as available individually.

The stainless-steel James Bond edition
| Feature | Detail (per OMEGA, October 2026) |
|---|---|
| Reference | 210.30.42.20.03.004 |
| Case size | 42 mm |
| Case material | Stainless steel |
| Bezel ring | Grade 5 titanium |
| Dial | Blue aluminum, engraved with a wave pattern |
| Bracelet | Brushed mesh |
| Movement | Calibre 8806 |
| Sale format | Available individually, according to OMEGA |
The platinum-gold model in the numbered set
The platinum-gold watch in the Bond set has a blue gun-barrel-pattern dial. It is sold only as part of a numbered set of 77, not individually. The Spectre set follows the same structure, with its own dial and numbering.
What OMEGA says about the collection
OMEGA President and CEO Raynald Aeschlimann said: “We are extremely proud of this collection. OMEGA has been the watch of James Bond for more than thirty years, and this is the first time we have brought James Bond and Spectre together in a collection. Both belong to the same story, and our customers have always known both sides of it. Now they can wear both.” These are company statements. The sources do not include independent sales or popularity figures for Bond watches, so “iconic” and “popular” should be read as OMEGA’s marketing language.
OMEGA announced availability through its boutiques and online from October 5, 2026. Stock and regional availability change, so confirm current listings with OMEGA before buying.

When you see a claim that a Seamaster or Diver 300M is “the Bond watch,” check the following:
- Film and year. A claim without a film is about the franchise relationship, not a specific watch.
- Reference number. Without a reference, the claim is about the Diver 300M family or the Seamaster line.
- Screen-used or commemorative. Ask whether the watch was worn on screen, or whether it is a later edition inspired by a film.
- Sale format. A watch sold only inside a numbered set is different from one listed individually.
- Specifications. Compare case material, size, dial, bezel, bracelet, and movement against the reference you are reading about.
Prices should be compared only after checking current listings in your region, because the sources cited here do not establish current pricing.
