For people using a Google Account with Google Health, Google says it keeps health and wellness data—including sleep data—until they delete it or leave Google Health. Google does not specify a fixed number of days that sleep history remains in an active account. The sleep information Google lists also depends on the Pixel Watch generation.
What sleep data does Google list for Pixel Watch?
Google’s device inventory lists three sleep outputs for Pixel Watch 2, Pixel Watch 3, Pixel Watch 4, and Pixel Watch 5: sleep score, sleep log, and sleep stages. It does not list sleep data for the original Pixel Watch, so the newer models’ list should not be assumed to apply to every generation. See Google’s Pixel Watch health and fitness features inventory.

|---|---|
| Original Pixel Watch | Not listed by Google’s current device inventory |
| Pixel Watch 2, 3, 4, and 5 | Sleep score, sleep log, and sleep stages |
These are the sleep outputs Google identifies; the inventory is not a promise that every metric will appear for every user or under every configuration.

Google says the Pixel Watch health app uses raw health sensor data, including accelerometer and photoplethysmography (PPG) data, to generate health and fitness information shown on the watch and in the Google Health app. Google’s broader account data description also covers categories such as setup details, health and wellness records, manual entries, connected services, and usage, network, and diagnostics information. What is collected varies by device and service; precise geolocation is used for selected features when location permission is granted. See Google’s device feature information and Google’s description of data collected by its devices and services.

To stop the watch app’s raw sensor-data collection, Google says to sign out of the Google Health app on the watch or disconnect the watch from the phone app. That stops collection; it is not the same as deleting previously synced history.
How long does Google keep Pixel Watch sleep data?
Google’s Google Health privacy FAQ says health and wellness data, including exercise, activity, sleep, and stress data, is kept until the user chooses to delete it or leaves Google Health. In other words, Google states no fixed active-account limit such as 30 or 90 days for sleep data. The FAQ explains that Google Health uses the data to provide personal statistics and other service features. Read Google’s Google Health privacy FAQ on retention periods.

This retention rule is specific to health and wellness data. Google separately says profile information such as sex is kept while a person stays with Google Health. Other information about a person and their use of the service may be retained as necessary for legitimate business interests, legal reasons, and preventing harm; that broader provision is not a stated sleep-history timetable.

How to export or delete your Google Health data
Google says data export and deletion controls are available in Google Health’s Data and Privacy settings. The export is provided in a commonly used file format and can include information about activities, body, food, sleep, and more.

If you use Fitbit devices or services with a Google Account, Google says your data is handled under the Google Privacy Policy, with further information in the Google Health privacy FAQs. The separate Fitbit Privacy Policy applies to legacy Fitbit accounts; its page states it was last updated February 27, 2026. See Fitbit’s privacy policy.

The transition for legacy Fitbit accounts has passed: Google’s FAQ says access to Fitbit accounts ended after May 19, 2026, and that deletion processing for accounts not moved to Google began on July 15, 2026. These are past transition dates, not a current opportunity to choose whether to migrate. The historical Fitbit policy said activity data remained until deletion of data or the account; after account deletion, most information was deleted within 30 days, while some device and backup data could take up to 90 days. That legacy account-deletion timetable is not the retention rule for sleep data in an active Google Health account. See Google’s transition and privacy FAQ and Fitbit’s policy.
