Random freezes, missing sound and display glitches usually trace back to one bad driver. Find and replace yours safely.Free scan · under a minuteBefore buying a G-Shock Frogman, check the exact reference: the family spans different dimensions, weights, materials and power arrangements. For example, Casio lists the resin-band GW-8200TPF-1 at 84 g and the titanium-band MR-G MRG-BF1000B-1A at 170 g. Both examples use Tough Solar, but neither specification should be assumed to apply to every Frogman.
What should I know before buying a G-Shock Frogman?
Frogman is a model family, not one fixed set of dimensions or features. Choose by reference number and check that model’s Casio specification page and manual for its size, materials, power source, display and care instructions. Casio describes Frogman as an ISO 200-meter diver-watch line; that rating is not permission to exceed the marked depth or use the watch for gas-mixture deep diving. Casio’s US Frogman collection gives the collection-level rating, while the exact manual governs operation.

Two official regional listings illustrate how much the wearing experience can differ. The GW-8200TPF-1 specifications are from Casio India; the MRG-BF1000B-1A specifications are from Casio US. These are examples, not a complete lineup or a like-for-like regional price comparison.

Will a Frogman fit my wrist?
Compare the case width, length, thickness and weight for the reference you plan to buy, then consider how those dimensions sit on your wrist. The GW-8200TPF-1 is 84 g; the titanium-band MR-G example is 170 g, so its extra mass may be especially noticeable during all-day wear. Casio’s asymmetrical Frogman design is intended to support wrist movement, but that design description does not establish that every reference will feel comfortable on every wrist.

- The product video shows "fluorine elastomer band", but this product is a composite band (resin x fine resin with metal parts embedded). It also features a double locking one-push tri-fold clasp with an extension mechanism that allows you to easily adjust the band when wearing a wetsuit
- G-SHOCK "Frogman" series analog display model with ISO standard 200 m submersible waterproofing to support underwater missions
- Dive mode / Tide graph mode to support diving activities: Dive mode to show diving time and surface rest time. Tide graph mode displays tide information anywhere and current time in that city. Analog display of useful functions for diving activities
- Bluetooth Radio Solar: Support Bluetooth, standard radio wave time correction. Equipped with tough solar, it is stable to drive various functions
- Smartphone Link: Dedicated app allows you to easily set tide data around 3000 locations around the world in the app. You can also check the dive logs on your smartphone and enjoy the data measured on the watch side
The GW-8200TPF-1 listing gives a band range of 150–220 mm. The cited MRG-BF1000B-1A listing does not provide a comparable range, so check the full product specification or try the watch on rather than inferring fit from the other model. If you are considering a replacement band, confirm compatibility by exact reference; these specifications do not establish a universal Frogman band fit.
Does a Frogman need a battery replacement?
The two references above are listed as Tough Solar. Their secondary batteries recharge from light, so they are not ordinary watches that require routine disposable-battery changes. This does not mean they never need service, and it does not establish the power arrangement for other Frogman references. Check the exact model’s specification and manual for charging and power-reserve information.

If the exact watch requires battery work, Casio’s module 5702 guide advises: “Always request battery replacement from your original retailer or from an authorized CASIO service center.” The guide notes that replacement requires special tools and that water resistance can be checked as part of service. Use the service guidance for your model rather than attempting a casual battery change on a diver watch.
How should I maintain Frogman water resistance?
Rinse after seawater exposure
Casio’s module 5702 guide says: “After submersion in seawater, use plain water to rinse all salt and dirt from your watch.” Follow the exact manual for cleaning details, and do not operate the crown while the watch is submerged.

Replace seals on the interval for your model
Seal replacement intervals are not universal across all Frogman references. Casio’s module 5702 guide specifies gasket replacement once every two years. Casio’s general water-resistance FAQ gives about once every two or three years for water-resistant watches, and separately says diver watches should have gaskets replaced once every two years. Check the manual for your exact module or ask an authorized Casio service center if the applicable interval is unclear.
Treat the rating as a maintained condition
A water-resistance rating describes the watch’s specified performance, not an assurance that aging seals remain sound. The module 5702 guidance limits diver-watch use to skin or scuba diving within the marked depth and excludes deep diving with gas mixtures. If the watch shows persistent fogging or visible moisture, stop using it in water and seek service; verify care and diagnostic instructions in the manual for your reference.

What to check on the exact reference before buying
- Fit: Confirm dimensions, weight and band range where listed; try it on if possible.
- Construction: Check case, bezel and band materials rather than assuming all Frogman models use the same combination.
- Power: Verify whether the reference uses Tough Solar or another power arrangement, then consult its manual for charging and reserve details.
- Functions and display: Confirm digital or analog display and any connectivity or timekeeping features on the model page; do not infer them from the family name.
- Water care: Use the reference’s manual for operating restrictions and gasket service intervals.
- Regional availability and price: Product listings are market-specific and can change. Check the Casio listing and authorized sellers in your country for the exact reference and current terms.
