MWC currently says its G10/100UKG is issued to the British Army, but that is a manufacturer claim, not confirmation from a newer official procurement record. CWC sells G10 watches and has a military heritage, but the available evidence does not establish that its current GS2000 is issued to the Army.

Is the MWC G10/100UKG the current British Army watch?
MWC identifies its G10/100UKG, NSN 6645-99-472-3228, as a British Army current-issue watch. That makes it a relevant model for readers asking about the Army’s present-day watch, but the claim should be attributed to MWC: the official MOD/DE&S record found for this article is from 2014, and no newer official procurement record was established.
MWC lists the G10/100UKG as a quartz watch with a Ronda 715Li movement, sapphire crystal, 100-metre water resistance, fixed strap bars and a grey 20 mm NATO-style strap. MWC also advertises an estimated battery life of up to 10 years. These are manufacturer-published specifications, not independent test results.
| MWC-published specification | G10/100UKG |
|---|---|
| Movement | Ronda 715Li quartz |
| Water resistance | 100 m |
| Crystal | Sapphire |
| Strap bars | Fixed |
| Supplied strap | Grey, 20 mm NATO-style strap |
| Advertised battery life | Up to 10 years |
MWC’s product pages use different conventions for case dimensions, so check the specific listing before comparing measurements. The MOD’s 2014 response also lists a procured grey, one-piece nylon strap, but the source does not establish that it is the same strap supplied with MWC’s retail watch.

What did the MOD record say in 2014?
The MOD/DE&S response dated 14 October 2014 named the Seiko PXD433 for general service, the Seiko PX8307X1 for aircrew and the Citizen BN0000-04H for divers. It also recorded one procured grey nylon wrist-instrument strap, NSN 6645-99-124-2986, and said there were no current Defence Standards for watches or straps at that time.
This is evidence of the MOD’s published position in 2014, not proof of what the Army procures or what individual soldiers wear in 2026. Procurement can change, and a record from 2014 cannot settle the current position on its own.

What about CWC G10 watches?
CWC has a long association with British military G10 watches and currently sells G10 products. That heritage is useful context for collectors and buyers, but it does not prove that a current CWC retail model—such as the GS2000—is issued to the Army.
The 2014 MOD response refers to a CWC divers watch and says it became obsolete in 2003. It does not identify the CWC GS2000 as a current issue model. Treat current CWC G10 watches as retail products with military heritage unless stronger, newer procurement evidence establishes otherwise.

How to check a British Army watch claim
- Check who is making the claim. An MOD/DE&S record and a manufacturer product page are different kinds of evidence.
- Check the date. The official record identified here dates from 2014; MWC’s Australian product page describes its current-issue claim as “As of 2024.”
- Check the exact model and reference. MWC identifies the G10/100UKG with NSN 6645-99-472-3228. A general “G10” label does not identify a specific watch or prove military issue.
- Separate current retail availability from procurement. A watch being sold today, or having a military history, does not establish a current Army contract.
- Look for a newer official record. A current MOD/DE&S procurement notice or FOI response would be needed to independently confirm the latest issue model.

Bottom line
The official MOD/DE&S watch record found for this article is from 2014 and names Seiko models for general service and aircrew, plus a Citizen diver’s watch. MWC currently claims that its G10/100UKG is issued to the British Army; CWC’s current G10 retail range has military heritage, but the available evidence does not show that its GS2000 is currently issued. A newer official procurement record is needed to confirm what the Army procures today.
