That price includes the tracker, a CoreKnit band, and a basic wired charger, but WHOOP 5.0 is tied to a membership rather than sold as a conventional subscription-free fitness tracker. Peak costs $239 per year with the same core 5.0 hardware and upgraded accessories, while Life costs $359 per year and includes the different WHOOP MG device.
WHOOP’s support documentation also references a possible $149 first-year One offer for eligible sign-ups. Treat that as promotional pricing and confirm both the checkout price and renewal charge before subscribing. The standard U.S. prices below were checked against WHOOP’s published pricing on August 16–18, 2026.

WHOOP 5.0 price at a glance
| Plan | Annual price | Hardware included | What it is best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| WHOOP One | $199 | WHOOP 5.0, CoreKnit Jet Black band, basic wired charger | The lowest standard price for WHOOP 5.0 |
| WHOOP Peak | $239 | WHOOP 5.0, SuperKnit band, Wireless PowerPack | More health, stress, and longevity features |
| WHOOP Life | $359 | WHOOP MG, SuperKnit Luxe band, Wireless PowerPack | Users specifically seeking MG heart-health features |
WHOOP’s official membership page lists these standard U.S. prices. Taxes, promotions, regional pricing, and future price changes can alter the amount shown at checkout.
Is WHOOP 5.0 sold separately?
Not in the usual sense. WHOOP presents the 5.0 hardware as included with a paid membership package. The membership pays for continued access to the WHOOP app, analytics, coaching, recovery tools, and other insights that make the band useful.
#1 Best Overall
- What You Get - A 12-month membership, WHOOP 5.0 device, a SuperKnit band, and a waterproof* Wireless PowerPack. Choose from a range of band and accessory combinations, and add a waterproof Wireless PowerPack for on-the-go charging.
- HSA/FSA Eligible - All 12-month WHOOP memberships and battery packs qualify for HSA/FSA reimbursement.
- Screenless, Distraction-Free - No screen, no buzzing notifications. WHOOP focuses entirely on your health and performance, with up to 14+ day battery life so you can wear it around the clock.
- Healthspan with Pace of Aging - Understand how your daily habits shape long-term health. Healthspan measures your WHOOP Age and Pace of Aging so you can take science-backed action to slow biological aging and extend your prime years.
- 24/7 Health Insights - WHOOP monitors your heart rate every second of every day, delivering personalized Sleep, Strain, Recovery, VO2 max, Menstrual Cycle, and Heart Rate insights along with a Real-time Stress Monitor that pinpoints your stressors and shows how your body responds in the moment, so you can make better decisions about training, rest, and daily performance.
That means headlines claiming WHOOP 5.0 is “free” are incomplete: the device may be included, but the annual membership is the financial commitment. Conversely, the $49 figure sometimes associated with WHOOP 5.0 is not a general retail price. WHOOP lists $49 as an eligible existing-member upgrade fee for Peak members. Life members can see a listed $79 upgrade fee for WHOOP MG. These prices depend on membership status and eligibility; they do not provide a subscription-free WHOOP 5.0.
WHOOP announced WHOOP 5.0 and WHOOP MG on May 8, 2025, so in 2026 the relevant question is not when WHOOP 5.0 will launch. It is which membership route gives you the hardware and features you need.
The cheapest way to get WHOOP 5.0
For a new U.S. customer, WHOOP One at $199 per year is the cheapest standard route. It includes:
Free tools Windows power users keep installed
One-click scans. No signup required.
- WHOOP 5.0 hardware
- CoreKnit Jet Black band
- Basic wired charger
- Membership access, support, and the standard WHOOP feature set
WHOOP’s support documentation references a $149 first-year One price in some sign-up contexts. Because the U.S. product page displays $199 per year, consider $149 an offer to verify at checkout rather than the universal current price.
WHOOP One vs. Peak: is the extra $40 worth it?
One and Peak use the same standard WHOOP 5.0 hardware. Peak costs $40 more per year, but it upgrades both the package and the available software.
| WHOOP One | WHOOP Peak | |
|---|---|---|
| Annual price | $199 | $239 |
| Tracker | WHOOP 5.0 | WHOOP 5.0 |
| Band | CoreKnit | SuperKnit |
| Charger | Basic wired charger | Wireless PowerPack |
| Additional features | Core sleep, strain, recovery, exercise, and coaching tools | Health Monitor, Real-time Stress Monitor, Healthspan, WHOOP Age, and Pace of Aging |
Choose One if your priorities are sleep, strain, recovery, heart-rate zones, exercise tracking, VO₂ Max estimation, and basic coaching. It is the sensible cost-minimizing choice if you do not need longevity or stress features and do not mind wired charging.

- What You Get - A 12-month membership, WHOOP MG device, a SuperKnit Luxe band, and a waterproof* Wireless PowerPack.
- Heart Screener with On-Demand ECG - Take an ECG reading from your wrist in seconds to check for signs of atrial fibrillation. Heart Screener gives you a medical-grade view of your heart rhythm whenever you need it.
Choose Peak if you want the broader feature set, prefer the SuperKnit band, or value the convenience of the Wireless PowerPack. The extra $40 per year is relatively modest, but it is primarily paying for additional software and a better accessory bundle—not a different standard tracker.
What does WHOOP Life include?
Life is not simply Peak with more software. It includes WHOOP MG, the higher-tier hardware variant, at $359 per year.
WHOOP describes Life as adding features such as:
- Blood-pressure insights
- ECG and Heart Screener functions
- Irregular-heart-rhythm notifications
- Priority phone support
ECG, irregular-heart-rhythm, and related regulated features have regional and eligibility limitations. “Medical-grade” does not mean WHOOP replaces a clinician, diagnostic equipment, or medical advice. Life makes sense mainly for someone who specifically wants these MG features and has confirmed that they are available for their location and account.
For ordinary sleep, recovery, training, and behavior tracking, the $359 Life plan is difficult to justify solely as a premium fitness subscription.
How much does WHOOP 5.0 cost over two years?
At standard U.S. annual pricing, the membership—not the included hardware—is the main ownership cost:
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute2Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems3Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches| Scenario | First year | Two years | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| WHOOP One | $199 | $398 | Lowest standard 5.0 route |
| WHOOP Peak | $239 | $478 | Includes additional features and upgraded accessories |
| WHOOP Life/MG | $359 | $718 | Uses WHOOP MG rather than standard 5.0 |
| One promotional first year | $149, if offered | $348 | $149 first year plus $199 renewal |
These are pre-tax estimates and exclude optional bands, family-plan adjustments, discounts, and future price changes. WHOOP says memberships generally bill annually and auto-renew unless canceled. Monthly billing may be available only after an initial 12-month commitment and may vary by location. Review the renewal date and amount before completing checkout.

What happens if you cancel?
WHOOP’s core value is its app-based analysis, coaching, and continuous health insights. Do not assume that canceling turns the band into a fully capable standalone tracker like a smartwatch or conventional fitness watch.
The available pricing information establishes the strong connection between hardware and membership but does not provide a complete, current offline-functionality matrix. Check the membership terms that apply to your account before canceling, and avoid treating the hardware as a one-time purchase with guaranteed full functionality after the subscription ends.
What existing WHOOP 4.0 members should expect
Existing members have different economics from new customers. WHOOP’s upgrade documentation lists:
- $49 for an eligible WHOOP 5.0 upgrade on Peak
- $79 for an eligible WHOOP MG upgrade on Life
Members with at least 12 months remaining may qualify for a free 5.0 hardware upgrade through the appropriate checkout flow. Eligibility depends on the account and membership terms.
Renewing or extending a membership does not necessarily ship the new tracker automatically. WHOOP says members may need to complete the upgrade process manually and place the hardware order through the upgrade flow. Existing 4.0 owners who do not upgrade can continue using their current device while following WHOOP’s applicable membership transition rules.
See WHOOP’s upgrade guidance and upgrade process before assuming that a renewal includes automatic hardware delivery.

Is there a free WHOOP trial?
WHOOP’s U.S. join flow advertises a one-month Peak trial using a certified pre-owned WHOOP 5.0. The advertised package includes the device, a basic wired charger, a Jet Black CoreKnit band, and a lifetime warranty.
Before the trial ends, you must choose whether to continue with a membership. Trial hardware, availability, conversion terms, and regional eligibility can change, so check the billing date and post-trial price during sign-up. The trial is most useful for people who are unsure whether they will consistently wear a screenless band.
Use WHOOP’s official U.S. trial page to confirm the current offer.
Extra costs: bands, family plans, and charging
Replacement and alternate bands
The included band is enough to use WHOOP 5.0, but extra bands can increase the real ownership cost. WHOOP’s shop has listed approximate U.S. prices of:
- CoreKnit: from about $39
- SuperKnit: about $49
- SportFlex: about $59
- Navigator: about $79
- LeatherLuxe: about $129
These are optional accessory prices, not mandatory costs. Check the WHOOP 5.0 band shop for current colors, materials, and prices.

Family membership
WHOOP family memberships cover two to six people, with each member receiving a device, band, charger, and app access. WHOOP’s displayed U.S. pricing has shown One at $199 per person, Peak at roughly $199–$215 per person, and Life at roughly $299–$323 per person.
Best Value
- Simple & Screen-Free Design – Easy to use and ultra-lightweight, comfortable for all-day wear without the distraction of a screen
- Powerful Health Monitoring – Accurately tracks heart rate, blood pressure, blood oxygen, HRV, sleep quality, and stress levels to help you better understand your body
- 100+ Sports Modes – Supports a wide range of fitness activities with precise tracking, making it your reliable companion for workouts and daily movement
- Ultra-Long Battery Life – Just 2 hours of charging powers up to 47 days of standby, so you can focus on your goals without constant recharging
- No Subscription Required – Enjoy all features with the free app, fast syncing, and easy Bluetooth connection—no hidden costs
Family pricing is a separate purchasing path, not the standard individual price. It can make sense for couples, households, teams, or training partners, but it is not useful to a solo buyer.
Who should buy WHOOP 5.0?
Buy WHOOP One if you want the lowest standard price, focus on sleep and recovery, and accept a wired charger and annual membership.
Buy WHOOP Peak if stress trends, Health Monitor, Healthspan, WHOOP Age, Pace of Aging, or the Wireless PowerPack matter to you. For many buyers, it is the better overall 5.0 package, but not the cheapest one.
Free tools Windows power users keep installed
One-click scans. No signup required.
Buy WHOOP Life only if you specifically want WHOOP MG and its additional heart-health features are available and relevant to you.
Skip WHOOP if you want a one-time purchase with no recurring fee, an on-device screen, notifications, maps, music controls, GPS sports features, or smartwatch apps. Apple Watch and Garmin are more suitable for screen-based smartwatch and sports-watch functionality; Oura is a better fit for readers who prefer a ring form factor. Current prices and specifications for alternatives should be checked directly with the relevant manufacturer.
Bottom line
The realistic WHOOP 5.0 price is $199 per year for WHOOP One, not $49 and not permanently free. Over two years, that is about $398 before tax. Peak costs $239 per year and is the more complete standard 5.0 package, while the $359 Life plan includes WHOOP MG rather than regular WHOOP 5.0. The decisive trade-off is whether WHOOP’s continuously updated recovery and coaching software is worth paying for every year.
