Your Galaxy Watch can vibrate while your phone is nearby because the same notifications may be set to alert on both devices. If that is not the cause, check which apps can notify the watch, its vibration settings, and Bluetooth disconnection alerts. The vibration alone does not identify the cause.
Check whether your phone and watch are alerting for the same notification
If both devices vibrate at the same time when a message or app alert arrives, start with notification delivery. In the Galaxy Wearable app, select your watch and open Watch settings > Notifications > Phone notifications on watch. Review whether notifications should appear on the watch while you are using your phone.

Samsung says the Always show on both option can make the phone and watch both sound and vibrate. On supported configurations, Smart device selection can suppress watch notifications while the phone is in use. Option names and availability depend on the watch and software version. Samsung’s notification instructions describe these settings.

If the vibration follows alerts from a particular app, open Notifications > App notifications in Galaxy Wearable and review which apps are allowed to notify the watch. Check notification and system vibration settings
If the watch vibrates without an obvious phone notification, review Sounds and vibration on the watch or in Galaxy Wearable. Samsung lists notification vibration and system vibration separately, so check both rather than assuming every buzz comes from an app. Samsung’s sounds and vibration guide explains these controls.
Look for Bluetooth disconnection alerts
If the vibration seems to happen when the connection status changes, check whether Bluetooth disconnection alerts are enabled and whether the watch remains connected to the phone. A phone being physically nearby does not by itself establish that the Bluetooth connection is stable. Samsung UK includes disconnection alerts among the settings to check when troubleshooting watch vibration; this is a possibility, not proof that a connection problem is causing your symptom. Quiet the watch temporarily
If you need the watch to stop alerting while you investigate, use an available silent mode such as Do not disturb, Theater mode, or Bedtime mode. Samsung says Do not disturb can sync between the phone and watch on supported configurations. Check the mode’s settings on your devices; the available choices and behavior can vary.
