It can fit a 16 cm (6.3-inch) wrist, but circumference alone cannot tell you whether it will look or feel too large. The current steel Moonwatch Professional reference 310.30.42.50.01.002 measures 42 mm across and 47.50 mm from lug to lug. Compare that span with the flat width of your wrist, then judge the exact watch on your arm if possible.
What size is the current Moonwatch Professional?
For reference 310.30.42.50.01.002, Omega lists a 42 mm case diameter, 47.50 mm lug-to-lug length, 13.18 mm thickness and 20 mm between the lugs. It is a substantial chronograph, though those figures alone do not determine how it will fit your wrist. Omega’s product sheet for reference 310.30.42.50.01.002 gives the specifications.

Omega defines case diameter without the crown and pushers, lug-to-lug as the distance between the upper and lower lugs, and thickness from the caseback to the crystal surface. The 20 mm between-lugs measurement is the strap attachment width; it does not, by itself, confirm that a particular third-party strap will fit. Omega’s product page explains the measurements and offers a wrist-size guide and preview.

Circumference measures around the wrist. Fit depends in part on the width of the wrist’s top surface, where the watch sits. Two wrists with the same circumference can have different shapes: one may be relatively broad and flat, another narrower and more curved. A circumference number therefore cannot establish whether the Speedmaster’s lugs will overhang.

Omega’s wrist preview is an estimate, not a guarantee. The most useful practical check is to look at the watch from above and see whether the lugs stay within the edges of your wrist. This is a fit check based on the watch’s lug span and your wrist shape—not an Omega pass/fail standard or a universal minimum wrist-size rule.
How to decide whether it works for you
- Measure the flat width. Measure across the top of your wrist where the watch would sit. Compare that width with the 47.50 mm lug-to-lug length, keeping in mind that the measurement is a guide rather than a precise fit formula.
- Check for overhang. From above, look at whether the lugs extend beyond the sides of your wrist. Notice how the case sits on your wrist’s shape rather than relying on circumference alone.
- Try the exact reference. If possible, try on reference 310.30.42.50.01.002. See whether it stays secure and comfortable during ordinary movement, and whether its prominent look suits your preference.
- Confirm the variant. Do not assume every Moonwatch Professional has identical dimensions. For example, Omega lists reference 310.30.42.50.01.001 at 42 mm diameter and 47.50 mm lug-to-lug, but 13.54 mm thick—compared with 13.18 mm for reference 310.30.42.50.01.002. Check the precise reference and crystal variant you are considering. Omega’s product sheet for reference 310.30.42.50.01.001 lists its dimensions.
So, is it too big for a 16 cm wrist?
Not automatically. It may suit you if the lugs sit within your wrist and you like a substantial chronograph. If the lugs overhang, the watch feels unwieldy, or you prefer a more restrained fit, it is too large for you regardless of what a generic circumference rule says. There is no verified universal minimum wrist circumference for the Speedmaster Professional; your wrist shape, comfort and visual preference decide the matter.
