Xiaomi Launches Its First AI Glasses With 2K Video, XiaoAI and a RMB 1,999 Starting Price

Xiaomi’s first AI Glasses launched in China on June 26, 2025, starting at RMB 1,999. They feature a 12MP 2K camera, XiaoAI voice assistant, translation, open-ear audio, livestreaming and optional electrochromic lenses—but they are not conventional AR glasses with an in-lens display.

Xiaomi’s first AI glasses launched in mainland China on June 26, 2025, starting at RMB 1,999. The approximately 40-gram glasses pair a 12MP first-person camera capable of 2K/30fps video with open-ear audio, five microphones and Xiaomi’s XiaoAI voice assistant. They are camera-and-audio smart glasses—not a conventional augmented-reality headset with an in-lens display.

What Xiaomi launched

Xiaomi introduced its first-generation AI Glasses in Beijing on June 26, 2025, starting at RMB 1,999 in mainland China. The glasses combine a first-person camera, open-ear audio, microphones, voice-controlled AI and optional electronically tintable lenses in a frame Xiaomi says weighs about 40 grams.

They are best understood as camera-and-audio smart glasses, not conventional augmented-reality glasses. The launch materials describe no in-lens display for projecting navigation, apps or other digital images. Instead, the wearer interacts with Xiaomi’s Super XiaoAI or Hyper XiaoAI assistant by voice and receives audio responses while the glasses capture or interpret the surrounding scene.

Pricing and availability are the most important qualifications. The RMB 1,999 starting price applies to the China launch, not a confirmed U.S. retail price. This research also does not establish an official U.S. launch, English-language XiaoAI support, U.S. warranty coverage or full compatibility with American services.

12MP camera records 2K first-person video

The glasses include a 12MP camera positioned for first-person capture. Xiaomi’s launch specifications cite 2K video at 30fps and electronic image stabilization. Recording can be started with a physical button on the temple or by voice through XiaoAI.

That makes the glasses suitable for hands-free clips, short-form video, livestreaming and video calls. Xiaomi also presented the product as a way to capture what the wearer sees without taking out a phone. The camera is not hidden: an orange privacy indicator illuminates during capture. That indicator is an important part of the product’s social and privacy design, so the glasses should not be described as covert or invisible recording equipment.

The camera’s headline resolution also needs context. The glasses should not be treated as an all-day 2K action camera. Launch reporting cited approximately 45 minutes of continuous video recording on a charge. That is a recording-runtime figure, not a statement that the glasses provide 45 minutes of total usable battery life in every mode.

XiaoAI provides voice control, recognition and translation

The assistant is central to the Xiaomi AI Glasses experience. Voice commands can be used to:

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.
  • Take photographs and start or stop video recording.
  • Recognize objects and text in front of the wearer.
  • Answer everyday questions.
  • Translate text from an image.
  • Provide simultaneous translation involving Chinese and 10 other languages, according to Xiaomi’s corporate description.
  • Make calls and support third-party video calls.
  • Interact with compatible Xiaomi smart-home devices.
  • Support livestreaming and, where enabled, QR-code payment functions.

The glasses use the camera and microphones as a multimodal input system: the wearer can ask about something in view, point the camera at text, or request an image or video without handling a phone. Xiaomi also described photo-to-text translation and broader question-and-answer functions through Hyper XiaoAI.

Feature availability is not necessarily universal. In particular, launch reporting indicated that some secure payment functions were expected through a later over-the-air update. QR-code payment should therefore be treated as a China-market launch feature or planned software capability, not as a guaranteed function in every region or on every early unit.

Open-ear audio and five microphones

The glasses use open-ear audio rather than sealing the ear canal with earbuds. That allows the wearer to hear assistant responses, music and calls while remaining more aware of surrounding sound. The frame also contains a five-microphone array for voice commands, calls, video calls and sound capture.

Open-ear audio is a design choice, not a promise of the same isolation or bass response as in-ear headphones. It may be useful for walking, casual calls and assistant interactions, but nearby people may hear some sound at higher volumes and noisy environments can affect intelligibility.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

40-gram frames and optional lens tint

Xiaomi says the frame weighs approximately 40 grams, placing it closer to conventional eyewear than to a bulky headset. The launch range included multiple frame styles rather than one universal shape.

Higher-priced versions add electrochromic lens options. The reported China launch prices were:

  • RMB 1,999: standard version.
  • RMB 2,699: reported electrochromic version.
  • RMB 2,999: reported color-electrochromic version.

For electrochromic models, Xiaomi described changing the tint by sliding two fingers over the temple. Colored lens options were also offered. Buyers who need prescription lenses should distinguish between the existence of an official optical-fitting pathway in China and confirmed support in their own country; the available research does not verify international prescription availability.

Battery life depends heavily on what the glasses are doing

The clearest workload-specific figures reported at launch were approximately 45 minutes of continuous video recording and approximately seven hours of music playback on one charge. Other launch coverage cited a longer overall battery figure under different conditions.

  • [Immersive 3D Narrative Depth] Breathe life into classic comics and films. Transform any 2D content into immersive 3D with advanced AI processing, creating a multi-layered depth that turns your favorite media into a living story.
  • [Audio by Bang & Olufsen] Hear the grit of the city with a quad-speaker system co-tuned by Bang & Olufsen experts. Experience a 360-degree soundstage that captures everything from a Batmobile chase to the Joker’s chilling laughter.

Those numbers should not be combined into one generic “battery life” claim. Recording 2K video, using image stabilization, transmitting a livestream, making a video call and querying the assistant place different demands on the camera, radios, processor and battery. Music playback is a different workload from continuous camera use, while standby or light mixed use can produce another result.

The glasses charge over USB-C, and launch reporting said they can be charged while in use. Nevertheless, the conservative buying expectation is that continuous camera recording is a short-session feature, not an all-day activity.

China launch availability: what international buyers should know

Xiaomi’s researched launch was in mainland China, with Chinese-market pricing and optical-retail fitting support. The existence of a Xiaomi product page or an import listing does not by itself establish official U.S. sales.

A buyer outside China should verify all of the following before importing:

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.
  • Whether XiaoAI supports the buyer’s preferred language and region.
  • Whether the companion app can be installed and fully used on the buyer’s phone.
  • Whether livestreaming, video calls and payment functions work outside China.
  • Whether Xiaomi Home devices in the buyer’s region can be controlled.
  • Whether replacement lenses and optical fitting are available.
  • Who provides warranty service and handles a defective unit.
  • Whether the importer supplies the correct charging, software and account support.

An imported pair may be physically usable as camera-and-audio glasses while still offering a different software experience from the one Xiaomi demonstrated in China. There is no verified U.S. MSRP in the supplied research, so converting RMB 1,999 directly into a U.S. retail price would be misleading.

How Xiaomi AI Glasses compare with Ray-Ban Meta

The closest mainstream comparison is Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses, which also combine first-person camera capture, open-ear audio and voice queries. The comparison is about product category, not identical capabilities.

Xiaomi’s main differentiators are its reported 2K/30fps camera, XiaoAI functions, Xiaomi Home integration, optional electrochromic lenses and low China-market starting price. Ray-Ban Meta has a different software ecosystem and a different availability profile. Neither product should be assumed to inherit the other’s language support, camera behavior, app compatibility or regional services.

XREAL xbx a01+ AR Glasses, 147'' Big-Screen Display for Movies & Gaming
  • YOUR PRIVATE 147” BIG SCREEN, ANYWHERE — Plug the a01+ into your phone, tablet, handheld, or laptop and a giant 147” screen appears in front of you—for movies, gaming, or getting work done on the couch, on a flight, or in bed. A true portable display you wear, in a soda-can-sized 210g case that drops in your pocket.
  • ALWAYS RIGHT IN FRONT OF YOU — The screen follows your view with smooth, stabilized tracking and stays centered as you look around—nothing to anchor or set up, and no drift to reset. Press play and your big screen is simply there.
  • 62G — LIGHT ENOUGH TO FORGET — At just 62g, with three nose-pad sizes and flexible temples, the a01+ stays comfortable through a long movie or flight, even lying down.
  • LOOKS LIKE SUNGLASSES, NOT A GADGET — A slim, sunglasses-style frame with a signature semi-transparent chassis and neon logo—light and low-profile enough to actually wear out.
  • WORKS WITH YOUR USB-C GEAR — No Battery to Charge — Connects and powers over a single USB-C DisplayPort cable: iPhone 15/16/17, iPad, DP-capable Android phones, Steam Deck, ROG Ally, Mac and PC. Nintendo Switch/Switch 2 and older (Lightning) iPhones need an adapter. For long phone sessions, add the XREAL Hub to charge and watch at once.

For readers who need a camera-equipped pair they can buy through an established international retail channel, Ray-Ban Meta is the more relevant alternative to investigate. It is not a replacement for Xiaomi’s XiaoAI or Xiaomi smart-home integration, and it does not prove that Xiaomi AI Glasses are officially available in the United States.

What creators can do with captured footage

Xiaomi positions the glasses for first-person recording and real-time livestreaming. That live function belongs to the glasses and their supported software; it should not be confused with a separate video-looping service.

After recording clips, a creator could use a service such as loop prerecorded video on YouTube to turn selected footage into a continuous stream. StreamNeo’s relevant function is cloud looping of prerecorded video, with automatic recovery and no need to keep a local computer running. It is a post-capture workflow for recorded files, not a verified direct live-camera integration with Xiaomi AI Glasses and not a way to transmit the glasses’ live view.

Turn Recorded Xiaomi AI Glasses Clips Into a Continuous YouTube Stream

StreamNeo helps creators turn prerecorded Xiaomi AI Glasses footage into an always-on YouTube Live stream. Upload a recorded video and paste a YouTube stream key, then let the stream run in the cloud while your PC stays off.

StreamNeo checks stream health every 30 seconds and automatically restarts dropped streams. That makes it suited to repurposing selected first-person clips after recording, while keeping the workflow separate from the glasses’ own live-camera feature.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

A 24-hour 720p/30fps trial is free with no card at signup, so creators can test a recorded clip loop before deciding whether a longer-running YouTube broadcast fits their channel.

(Auxiliary route guidance, prioritizing safe observation of the real-world environment.)

Who should consider Xiaomi AI Glasses?

The glasses make the most sense for a China-market buyer who already uses Xiaomi devices and values hands-free camera capture, voice assistance, translation and optional lens tinting. The ecosystem integration is more compelling than the hardware as a standalone Bluetooth audio accessory.

They are a weaker choice for someone who:

  • Needs a confirmed U.S. retail product and local warranty.
  • Requires reliable English-language assistant support.
  • Wants a display-based AR experience.
  • Needs hours of uninterrupted high-resolution recording.
  • Expects every advertised payment or AI feature to work outside China.

Bottom line

Xiaomi’s first AI glasses launched in China on June 26, 2025, at RMB 1,999. They offer a 12MP camera with 2K/30fps recording, open-ear audio, five microphones, XiaoAI voice control, translation, scene recognition, livestreaming and optional electrochromic lenses in an approximately 40-gram frame.

The product’s strongest case is as Xiaomi ecosystem hardware for hands-free capture and multimodal voice assistance. Its main limitation for international buyers is uncertainty around regional availability, language support, warranty service and software features—not whether the glasses themselves exist. The device is also not a conventional AR headset: Xiaomi launched camera-and-audio smart eyewear without an established in-lens display.

Are Xiaomi AI Glasses available in the United States?

Do Xiaomi AI Glasses have an augmented-reality display?

No conventional in-lens AR display was established in the launch research. Xiaomi presented them as camera-and-audio smart glasses with voice AI, open-ear audio and optional lens tinting.

How long does the Xiaomi AI Glasses battery last?

Xiaomi reported approximately 45 minutes of continuous video recording and approximately seven hours of music playback. These are different workload measurements, so neither should be presented as universal all-purpose battery life.

The Bottom Line

Bottom line: Xiaomi AI Glasses are China-launched smart glasses with a 12MP 2K camera, XiaoAI voice features, open-ear audio and optional electrochromic lenses, starting at RMB 1,999. They are not conventional display-based AR glasses, and U.S. buyers should treat imported units as unverified for local language support, payments, apps and warranty coverage.
