The early reports got its larger display, long battery-life claim and 150-plus sports modes broadly right. But the finished band is an incremental update, not a major redesign—and it still has no built-in GPS.
What the early Smart Band 10 leak claimed
Pre-launch reporting published on June 4–5, 2025, described apparent renders and specifications attributed to tipster Sudhanshu Ambhore and reported by Android Authority. Xiaomi had not confirmed those details at the time.
- A 1.72-inch AMOLED display with 212 × 520 resolution.
- A 230mAh battery and up to 21 days of battery life.
- More than 150 sports modes and a PPG heart-rate sensor.
- HyperOS 2.0, with reported Android 8.0-or-newer and iOS 12-or-newer support.
- Black, silver and pink color options, with expected European pricing of about €40–€50.
Those figures were predictions, not an official specification sheet or confirmed price. The leak also did not establish a launch date.
What Xiaomi actually launched
The global Smart Band 10 retained the central leaked specifications: a 1.72-inch, 212 × 520 AMOLED screen, more than 150 sports modes and an advertised battery life of up to 21 days. Xiaomi’s product page lists 1,500-nit HBM brightness and a refresh rate of up to 60Hz; Xiaomi says refresh rate varies by interface and actual performance may vary. The standard model has an aluminum-alloy frame, and a ceramic edition is available in selected markets. See Xiaomi’s product information.

- 5ATM water resistance and Mi Fitness app integration.
Xiaomi says its swimming lap-count accuracy reached 96% in internal testing; that is a manufacturer result, not an independently verified guarantee. Sleep scores and other wellness readings are tracking estimates, not medical diagnoses. The leak’s HyperOS 2.0 claim should likewise be treated as a pre-launch report rather than a confirmed software-version statement for every region.
How it compares with the Smart Band 9
| Feature | Smart Band 9 | Smart Band 10 |
|---|---|---|
| Display | 1.62-inch AMOLED | 1.72-inch AMOLED |
| Resolution | Not specified in the cited review comparison | 212 × 520 |
| Brightness | Lower than Band 10; exact figure not stated in the cited comparison | 1,500 nits HBM, per Xiaomi |
| Refresh rate | Lower or unspecified in the cited comparison | Up to 60Hz; interface-dependent, per Xiaomi |
The screen is the clearest upgrade
The larger, brighter screen gives notifications, workout figures and watch faces more room and should be easier to read outdoors. The 60Hz refresh rate can make supported interfaces feel smoother. Independent testing described the screen as a worthwhile improvement, but not a transformation. The brightness and refresh-rate figures are Xiaomi specifications, and Xiaomi notes that real-world results vary.

More fitness features, familiar shape
The aluminum-alloy standard model weighs about 15.95g without its strap and is 10.95mm thick, excluding the PPG sensor protrusion, according to Xiaomi. The pill-shaped design remains familiar. The new sensor and feature set adds options for swimming, running and sharing heart-rate data, but 150-plus modes do not automatically mean deep sport-specific analysis.
Sleep reports, scores and a multi-week improvement plan expand the wellness tools. Xiaomi’s claims of improved sleep intelligence do not establish clinical-grade accuracy. Neither the Smart Band 10 nor its marketing should be treated as a substitute for medical equipment.

Battery life remains a claim, not a promise
Xiaomi advertises up to 21 days. In Android Authority’s launch coverage, testing under heavier-than-average conditions produced about 18–19 days; the publication considered three weeks plausible with average use. Frequent workouts, high screen brightness, notifications and sleep tracking can all shorten runtime. The headline battery claim is not a meaningful jump over the previous generation.
No built-in GPS
The Smart Band 10 relies on a connected phone’s location services for route and distance data. It cannot record a phone-free GPS run by itself. That is a decisive limitation if you want to leave your phone at home while running, cycling or hiking.

What the leak missed—and what varies by market
The leak was broadly right about the screen, battery claim and exercise-mode count, but it was not a complete or authoritative preview. The product subsequently launched globally in June 2025, according to Android Authority’s launch report. Colors, NFC, ceramic editions, straps and some ecosystem features vary by country and edition. Do not assume that a feature on one regional model is available on another.
Pricing also needs market context. Android Authority reported global launch pricing starting at $49.90 in some markets. TechRadar later listed £39.99 for the standard UK model, £54.99 for the UK ceramic edition, and $73.99 in the US. Those figures reflect different markets, editions and points in time; they are not a single current global price. Leaked European pricing of €40–€50 is not a current price guide.

Independent review findings to weigh
Strap clasp concerns
TechRadar’s independent review reported repeated failures of the default strap clasp, including during workouts and ordinary wear. That is one reviewer’s experience, not proof that every unit has the problem. Xiaomi warns that a loose strap can affect heart-rate, blood-oxygen, sleep and other readings. Replacement straps are sold separately, and availability depends on region; Xiaomi lists alternate materials on its product page. Leather, silk, magnetic and metal straps are not suitable for swimming or sweaty exercise.
One reported overheating shutdown
The same review described an overheating shutdown during a workout in warm sun. This is an anecdotal report, not evidence of a widespread defect. It is a reason not to assume outdoor performance or battery life is guaranteed in hot conditions.
Who should buy the Smart Band 10?
It makes sense for
- New buyers who want an inexpensive tracker with a large, bright screen and long battery life.
- People who want basic heart-rate, sleep and exercise tracking, and are comfortable carrying a phone for GPS.
- Xiaomi users who value Mi Fitness and the company’s ecosystem features.
- Buyers who find the standard model at a competitive price and are satisfied with its tracking depth.
The Smart Band 9 may be better value if
You already have a working Band 9, do not need the larger and brighter display, or can buy the older model for substantially less. TechRadar’s comparison found that the Band 9 retains much of the newer model’s core functionality, making it a sensible lower-cost choice when discounted.
Look elsewhere if
- You need built-in GPS for phone-free workouts.
- You want advanced training analysis, a richer app ecosystem or cellular connectivity.
- You require consistent NFC availability across regions; editions differ.
- You cannot tolerate strap uncertainty or want a tracker suited to every swim and workout without checking its fit and accessories.
For GPS and deeper training tools, consider a dedicated sports watch or a more capable smartwatch. Those categories generally cost more and require more frequent charging. The Smart Band 10 is best understood as a budget lifestyle tracker, not a replacement for a GPS running watch or medical device.
Water resistance and everyday use
Xiaomi rates the band 5ATM, but that does not make it suitable for every water setting. Xiaomi excludes hot showers, hot springs, saunas and fast-paced water sports. Follow the product guidance for the specific band and strap you own rather than treating a water-resistance rating as permission for all water activities.
