The YEMA Superman Skin Diver CMM.20 pairs a compact 39.5 mm steel case with a micro-rotor movement and a push-to-unlock bezel. In Don Evans’s hands-on review of a burgundy-dial example, the dial and bezel won him over, while the non-hacking movement and bracelet fit were the main compromises. Here’s how those impressions line up with YEMA’s current specifications.
What was reviewed—and what YEMA specifies
Don Evans’s WatchReport review, dated February 16, 2026, covers a burgundy-dial example. His comments about comfort, bezel feel and appearance are observations of that sample, not measurements or guarantees for every wrist or variant. The dimensions, water resistance and movement figures below are YEMA’s published specifications.

| Specification | YEMA’s published figure |
|---|---|
| Case | 39.5 mm, 316L steel |
| Lug to lug | 47 mm |
| Thickness | 11.5 mm |
| Lug width | 20 mm |
| Crystal and bezel insert | Double-domed sapphire crystal; sapphire bezel insert |
| Water resistance | 30 BAR / 300 m / 990 ft |
| Movement | CMM.20 automatic micro-rotor |
| Power reserve and rate | 70 hours; -3/+7 seconds per day |
YEMA says the CMM.20 is designed, manufactured, assembled and calibrated by its watchmakers in Morteau, France. The 30 BAR rating is the manufacturer’s specification; the cited hands-on review does not document an independent water-resistance test. The screw-down crown and transparent caseback are also part of the watch’s design.

How does the Skin Diver wear?
The 39.5 mm diameter and 47 mm lug-to-lug give the case relatively compact stated dimensions, but wrist shape and bracelet fit still matter. Evans reported that the watch felt comfortable on his 7.5-inch (19.05 cm) wrist. He liked the retro look of the Slim Scales bracelet, but found its end links had limited articulation and could create a bangle-like effect. He needed the dive extension to get the fit he wanted, and his sample did not include extra links.

- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
YEMA describes the bracelet as brushed 316L steel with adaptive glide micro-adjustment. Its product page says the adjustment range is up to 6 mm in 1 mm steps. That feature helps fine-tune fit, but it does not resolve every issue of wrist shape or link articulation. If possible, assess the bracelet on your own wrist and confirm sizing and included links for the specific listing before buying.
What is the dial and bezel like?
Burgundy dial
YEMA describes the dial as slightly brushed, with applied markers and polished-steel hands filled with C3 Grade A Super-LumiNova. On the burgundy review sample, Evans saw vertical brushing, trapezoid-shaped numerals at 12, 3, 6 and 9, and triangular markers at the other positions. He liked the color and overall appearance. His comments on lume are personal observations, not a timed or instrumented test.

Push-to-unlock bezel
The bidirectional bezel has a 0–60 diving scale and is locked by default. Press it down to release it for rotation; let go and it locks again. Evans reported a 120-click bezel on his sample and found the pressure needed to operate it natural. That tactile impression belongs to his example and may not predict every wearer’s experience.
Does the CMM.20 movement hack?
No, according to Evans’s review: when he pulled the crown to set the time, the seconds hand kept moving. That means the reviewed watch does not hack, so you cannot stop the seconds hand to synchronize it precisely to a reference time. YEMA specifies a 70-hour power reserve and a rate of -3/+7 seconds per day; those are manufacturer figures, not timing results from Evans’s review.

Is the Skin Diver worth its price?
At the time of research, YEMA’s U.S. product page listed the Skin Diver CMM.20 for $2,790. Price and variant availability can change, so check the current U.S. product listing and Skin Diver collection before purchase. The U.S. store states that its mechanical YEMA Manufacture watches have a five-year international warranty; consult the current listing and warranty terms for the watch you are considering.
Evans’s value reservation centered on the price of the micro-rotor and the non-hacking movement. He contrasted the Skin Diver with the Superman Dato, which he described as using a CMM.10 central-rotor movement and costing about $700 less at the time of his review. That is a dated comparison, not a current price difference. His view was that the Skin Diver makes more sense for someone who values its micro-rotor and distinctive dial enough to choose it over the Dato.

- Please Note: To reach 10Gbps speed, keep the cable under 3.3 ft. For USB A Male to USB C adapters, try flipping the USB C connector. USB C Male to USB A adapters support bidirectional 10Gbps transfer within 3.3 ft
For your own comparison, weigh the case dimensions against your wrist, micro-rotor versus central-rotor construction, stated accuracy and power reserve, hacking, bezel operation, dial and date layout, bracelet adjustment and articulation, water-resistance rating, and current price and warranty. The Dato’s present-day price and terms are not established by the cited sources.
Verdict
The Skin Diver CMM.20’s strongest case is its combination of a burgundy brushed dial, compact stated dimensions, micro-rotor movement and distinctive locking bezel. In the reviewed example, the bezel felt natural to operate and the bracelet looked the part, but its articulation and the non-hacking movement are meaningful trade-offs. At the listed U.S. price of $2,790 at research time, it is most persuasive for a buyer who specifically wants the micro-rotor and Skin Diver design—not simply a Superman with a date-free dial.
