The Zenith Captain Winsor Annual Calendar pairs an El Primero automatic chronograph with a calendar showing the day, date and month. Its annual calendar needs periodic correction—Christie’s says once a year, while a dealer listing specifies the end of February. Exact specifications vary by reference, so confirm the reference before comparing examples or following setting instructions.
What the Captain Winsor Annual Calendar does
The Captain Winsor combines an annual calendar and chronograph around the El Primero 4054. The calendar displays the day, date and month; the chronograph includes a 60-minute register. The model family is described as using a 29-jewel automatic movement. Christie’s auction catalogue describes the calendar as requiring adjustment once annually.
That annual correction is the practical difference from a calendar that needs correction every month: the mechanism accounts for months of different lengths, but not the transition out of February. A dealer listing for another configuration specifies adjustment at the end of February. Because setting procedures can be reference-specific, consult the applicable Zenith manual before changing calendar indications.
Specifications depend on the reference
Published specifications for reference 03.2070.4054/02.C711 describe a 42 mm steel case, 13.85 mm thickness, 50 m water resistance, 29 jewels, a frequency of 36,000 alternations per hour and approximately 50 hours of power reserve. Its reported dial layout places the day and month at 3 o’clock, the date and 60-minute chronograph counter at 6, and continuous seconds at 9. These details are tied to that reference, not guaranteed across the family. Orologi.it’s reference listing gives the specifications and a launch-era euro price of €9,800; that historical price is not a current valuation.

A separate Zenith technical sheet for a Boutique Edition gives a 42 mm diameter, 13.85 mm thickness, 5 ATM water resistance, 29 jewels, 36,000 vph (5 Hz) and a minimum 50-hour reserve, with day and month at 3 and date at 6. It concerns a distinct Boutique Edition reference family, so it should not be treated as proof that all Captain Winsors share the same case, dial or strap. Zenith Boutique Edition technical sheet
Which variants are documented?
Documented family configurations include steel cases with silver or blue-toned dials, as well as rose-gold versions. A dealer review entry for reference 03.2070.4054/22.C708 describes a blue-grey dial, blue alligator strap, 42 mm diameter and 14.1 mm thickness. The difference between that reported thickness and the 13.85 mm listed for other references is a reason to verify the full reference rather than assume one specification applies throughout. Watchonista’s review and technical-sheet listing
Before treating two watches as comparable, check their full references and configuration: case material, dial and hands, dimensions, calendar and chronograph layout, and strap and clasp. Similar model names alone do not establish that the watches have identical specifications.
How to check a pre-owned Captain Winsor
Use the reference and the condition of the specific watch—not broad family descriptions—as the basis for a buying comparison.

Where to find the right setting instructions
Zenith’s support page separates manuals for watches acquired before 2025 from manuals for watches launched from 2025 onward. Search for the exact reference and use its applicable manual for annual-calendar adjustment and chronograph operation; the support page does not itself provide Captain Winsor-specific setting steps.
