Zenith introduced the Defy Extreme Diver in 2024 as a modern addition to its Defy diver line, which the brand traces to 1969. The launch models pair a 42.5 mm titanium case and 600 m water-resistance specification with an automatic El Primero 3620-SC movement and a three-piece strap-and-bracelet set. Prices vary by market and date, so check the exact reference and seller before buying.
What Zenith introduced in 2024
The Defy Extreme Diver takes design cues from historical Defy divers and the current Defy family, according to Zenith’s 2024 launch release. Its angular titanium case measures 42.5 mm. A fixed, twelve-sided outer bezel frames a separate ceramic bezel that rotates in one direction and carries Super-LumiNova markings.
The screw-down crown has titanium guards, and the case includes a helium escape valve. Zenith says the watch meets ISO 6425 requirements and references ISO 764 and ISO 1413. Those are the manufacturer’s statements; the information available here does not independently establish certification or testing. A water-resistance rating is a specification, not a guarantee of performance in every dive or a substitute for checking a watch’s condition and service history.
Movement, dial and legibility
Inside is the automatic El Primero 3620-SC manufacture calibre, specified by Zenith with a 60-hour power reserve. The movement is visible through a sapphire display back. Zenith describes its escapement as paramagnetic, with key components made from non-metallic silicon.

Oversized hands and applied hour markers support readability. Zenith says the Super-LumiNova X1 on the dial emits blue, green and orange light to distinguish functions.
Launch references and included straps
The 2024 launch set consisted of a titanium three-link bracelet, a dial-coloured FKM rubber strap with a Cordura-effect texture and an extra-long strap made from recycled fishing nets, designed to fit over a wetsuit. The two initial dial-and-bezel combinations have distinct references:

Quick Recap
What to verify before buying
- Reference and colour: Match the listing to the blue 95.9601.3620/51.I301 or black 95.9600.3620/21.I300 launch model, rather than relying on a broad product name.
- Included accessories: Confirm which bracelet and straps are supplied with that specific listing; do not assume a used or regional listing includes the full launch set.
- Strap fit: Check that a replacement is specifically listed as compatible with the Extreme Diver, and confirm its length and intended use—especially if you need to wear it over a wetsuit.
- Price and seller: Ask for the current local price, tax treatment, stock status, warranty terms and confirmation of the seller’s authorization.
