The Zenith DEFY Extreme Mirror is a reflective, all-steel take on the brand’s high-frequency DEFY Extreme chronograph. Announced on December 8, 2023, it pairs a mirror-polished angular case and integrated bracelet with a translucent, metallic-finished sapphire dial element and an El Primero 21 movement specified to measure 1/100th of a second. The information below describes ZENITH’s launch announcement; it is not a firsthand review.
What is the Zenith DEFY Extreme Mirror?
The DEFY Extreme Mirror is a DEFY Extreme chronograph distinguished by a reflective stainless-steel exterior. In its December 8, 2023 announcement, ZENITH described the design as a kind of reflective camouflage: the polished surfaces are intended to reflect their surroundings. The angular case and integrated bracelet give the watch the collection’s bold, geometric profile.
The dial is open and multi-layered, with a central sapphire element that ZENITH describes as translucent and finished with a reflective metallic look. The manufacturer says satin-brushed metallic details on the 1/100th-second scale are intended to support readability while preserving the all-metal appearance. Those are ZENITH’s design descriptions, not independent assessments of legibility.
When did it come out, and where was it offered?
ZENITH announced the DEFY Extreme Mirror on December 8, 2023. The launch announcement said it was available through ZENITH’s physical and online boutiques and authorized retailers around the world. That is a statement about the launch, not confirmation of current stock; availability should be checked with a boutique or authorized retailer.

What movement is in the DEFY Extreme Mirror?
ZENITH specifies an El Primero 21 architecture with two independent escapements. The timekeeping escapement runs at 5 Hz, or 36,000 vibrations per hour, while the chronograph escapement runs at 50 Hz, or 360,000 vibrations per hour. ZENITH says the chronograph can measure to 1/100th of a second.
The separate high-frequency chronograph escapement is the key distinction in this specification: the stated 50 Hz rate applies to the chronograph, not the watch’s ordinary timekeeping. ZENITH’s current DEFY Extreme collection page describes the broader El Primero 21 architecture and these frequencies, but it includes other versions. Materials, prices, and availability shown for those variants should not be assumed to apply to the Mirror.
What straps come with the watch?
ZENITH’s announcement lists a stainless-steel bracelet, a black Velcro strap, and a rubber strap. The manufacturer says the straps can be changed using a mechanism on the back of the case. The announcement does not establish separate strap model numbers or a compatibility chart.

The accessible official launch announcement does not provide a verified exact reference number or price for the Mirror edition. Current prices on ZENITH’s catalog pages may refer to different DEFY Extreme versions, so they are not reliable substitutes. Anyone checking a listing should confirm that it identifies the Mirror edition and verify the reference and condition with the seller or an authorized retailer.
