The Zenith DEFY Skyline 36 keeps the line’s angular steel design in a smaller case, with a faceted bezel, star-patterned dial, automatic Elite movement and an interchangeable strap system. This is a sourced overview, not a personal wear review: the available information does not establish hands-on time or measured fit. Details vary by reference and region, so the specifications below are tied to the listings they describe.

What defines the DEFY Skyline 36?

Zenith describes the Skyline 36 as a 36 mm stainless-steel watch with an octagonal case, a faceted bezel and a dial pattern based on the brand’s four-pointed star. Those elements carry the larger DEFY Skyline’s distinctive geometry into a smaller format. The exact appearance depends on the reference: Zenith’s US listing is a blue-dial version with a diamond-set bezel, while its Norway listing shows a silver-toned dial and standard faceted steel bezel.

How do the two listed versions differ?

Detail US diamond-set reference Norway steel-bezel reference
Reference 16.9400.670/51.I001 03.9400.670/01.I001
Bezel and dial Faceted diamond-set bezel; blue sunburst-pattern dial Faceted steel bezel; silver-toned sunburst dial
Included straps Steel bracelet and additional blue patterned rubber strap Steel bracelet and additional black patterned rubber strap
Movement identification Elite 670 Elite
Other published specifications 36 mm case; 144 movement components; 28,800 VpH (4 Hz); approximately 50 hours of power reserve; 10 ATM water resistance Approximately 50 hours of power reserve; 28,800 VpH (4 Hz); 10 ATM water resistance

These are details from two specific regional product pages, not a guarantee that every Skyline 36 shares the same dial, strap, or complete specification set. Zenith’s US page lists the movement’s component count; the Norway listing identifies the movement as Elite without giving that count in the cited details. Check the page for the exact reference and market before relying on a configuration.

What movement and performance figures does Zenith publish?

For the US diamond-set reference, Zenith identifies an automatic Elite 670 movement with 144 components, a frequency of 28,800 VpH (4 Hz), and approximately 50 hours of power reserve. Zenith also lists 10 ATM water resistance. These are manufacturer-published specifications, not independent measurements or test results. The Norway steel-bezel reference is likewise listed with an Elite movement, approximately 50 hours of reserve, 28,800 VpH (4 Hz), and 10 ATM water resistance.

The Skyline 36 uses the Elite movement family; do not assume it has the El Primero caliber cited for some larger Skyline models. For the specific movement identification and figures, see Zenith’s US product page for reference 16.9400.670/51.I001 and Zenith’s Norway product page for reference 03.9400.670/01.I001.

Does it come with a rubber strap?

Both cited versions are described as delivered with a steel bracelet and an additional rubber strap. The US diamond-set listing specifies a blue patterned strap; the Norway silver-dial listing specifies a black patterned strap. Treat these as reference-specific inclusions, not evidence that every regional package has the same strap color or contents. The cited pages establish included straps for these configurations, not universal aftermarket compatibility or separate strap availability.

What dial colors are available?

In a report published on 19 January 2026, T3 described a new silver-toned Skyline 36 dial alongside deep blue, ice blue, pastel green and pink options. The report said the watches were available through Zenith’s website or select stores at that time. It is dated collection coverage, not a live stock check: it does not establish that each color or reference is currently offered in every country. Zenith’s regional product pages show why it is useful to check the precise reference; their listed silver and blue versions have different bezel and strap details.

How should you assess fit and value?

A 36 mm diameter establishes the case width, but it cannot by itself tell you how the watch will sit on your wrist. The sources here do not provide a measured on-wrist assessment, case thickness, or lug-to-lug dimension, and there is no basis for claiming personal wear impressions. If fit is decisive, try the specific watch on in person or ask a retailer for the dimensions of that reference.

Whether the Skyline 36 is worth its price depends on the particular reference, your preference for the standard steel or diamond-set bezel, and the value you place on its design and included strap set. The cited material does not establish current prices or support a value-for-money verdict. Before buying, confirm the reference number, regional availability, dial and bezel treatment, and included strap color against the seller’s listing.
