What is the Zodiac x Liberty Super Sea Wolf?
It is a documented collaboration between Swiss watchmaker Zodiac and British design house Liberty, based on Zodiac’s Super Sea Wolf. Liberty’s official feature calls it a limited-edition, Swiss-made collector’s timepiece, crafted at Zodiac’s Swiss workshop and presented in a wooden gift box. Liberty does not publish a reference number, production quantity, movement, or price in that feature: Liberty’s collaboration feature.
What makes the design distinctive?
Liberty says the watch is engraved with a reworked Art Nouveau motif drawn from its historic archive. The brand also describes three interchangeable wrist straps and an elapsed dive-time tracker. These are details from Liberty’s own account of the collaboration; the feature does not specify the materials or colors of all three straps.
Liberty’s description frames the straps as a way to vary the watch’s style: “Each of the three interchangeable wrist straps reflects a different side of the Super Sea Wolf’s timeless wearability,” writes Team Liberty. The watch is presented in a wooden gift box, according to the same feature.

Published accounts conflict on both points. Time+Tide’s September 14, 2019 launch article calls the watch reference ZO9404 and says the edition was limited to 30 pieces. A C.W. Watch Shop listing identifies a ZO9285 example as number 173 of 300. Liberty’s official feature confirms the collaboration but does not give a reference or count.

The counts and specifications above are therefore source-reported claims, not a reconciled official specification. What specifications are reported for ZO9285?
C.W. Watch Shop’s ZO9285 listing reports the following specifications. They apply to that retailer-identified reference, not automatically to the watch described by Time+Tide as ZO9404.

For comparison, Time+Tide describes its ZO9404 as a 40 mm stainless-steel GMT model with purple accents on the 24-hour bezel and GMT hand, an ETA 2893-2 movement, and a 42-hour reserve. Those details belong to that 2019 launch account; they should not be substituted for the retailer’s ZO9285 listing or treated as an official specification sheet.

What came with the retailer-listed example?
C.W. Watch Shop says its particular ZO9285 example included a leather strap, purple rubber strap, steel bracelet, wood case, manual, and strap-changing tool. Liberty independently describes three interchangeable straps and a wooden gift box, but does not give the accessory list or materials in its feature. The retailer’s inventory page displayed the listing as sold out when accessed on October 8, 2026; that does not establish availability elsewhere.
How should buyers check a listing?
- Ask for the reference and caseback details. The published reference claims differ, so confirm the exact watch being offered rather than relying on the collaboration name alone.
- Match the paperwork and specification claims to that example. Request clear photographs and documentation for the movement, accessories, and any stated edition number.
- Check strap fit beyond width. The retailer reports a 20 mm lug width for ZO9285. Width alone does not establish compatibility with a particular strap, spring bar, or bracelet end link.
- Treat price and stock as listing-specific. A sold-out retailer listing and its stated price do not establish current availability or market value.
Do not confuse it with other Super Sea Wolf models
Zodiac’s current ZO9255 Super Sea Wolf 53 Compression page lists a 40 mm case, 20 mm strap width, automatic movement, sapphire crystal, and 20 ATM water resistance. That is a separate SKU, not evidence of the Liberty collaboration’s exact configuration. Zodiac’s broader Compression Diver collection page describes general platform characteristics, including 40 mm sizing, Swiss-made STP movements, interchangeable straps, and up to 20 ATM resistance; those collection-level statements likewise do not verify the Liberty watch’s specifications.
