16 Watches We Kept Wearing: What Made Them Stick, From Casio to Rolex

From the practical Casio Duro to the Rolex Submariner 116610, these 16 watches stayed on wrist for reasons beyond their specifications. Here is what their owners valued, what they gave up, and how to read the source’s September 2026 price snapshots.

These 16 watches stayed in rotation after their reviews for different reasons: some were easy to wear, some made everyday tasks simpler, and others remained compelling despite their quirks. Two Broke Watch Snobs’ September 23, 2026 article records its authors’ ownership and wear impressions—not a controlled comparison—so the list is best read as a set of personal reasons to keep reaching for a watch, rather than a ranking of the best watches to buy. Read the original account.

What kept these watches in rotation

The common thread is not a shared price, movement, or specification. Continued wear came from a mix of comfort, usefulness, legibility, design character, and attachment. A watch can succeed in one of those areas while frustrating its owner in another: the most capable option may be bulky, a striking dial may be hard to read at night, and an older favorite may demand expensive service.

The observations below belong to the source’s authors. Specifications and prices are presented as that article reported them; they have not been independently verified here. The prices are September 2026 snapshots, not current quotations or a consistent market survey.

16 watches, and why they stayed

1. Casio Duro

The Duro’s reported 200m water resistance, screw-down crown, and quartz movement make it a straightforward practical watch. The source lists a 44.2mm case and 22mm lugs, dimensions that can feel large, and notes that its mineral crystal can scratch and its lume fades. Two Broke Watch Snobs listed it at $85 in September 2026.

Elebase USB to USB C Adapter for iPhone 18 Pro Max,USBC Car Charger Adapter
  • Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
  • Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
  • Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
  • Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
  • 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.

2. Orient Bambino

The Bambino makes a dressier case for everyday wear through its dial and proportions. The source says the 40.5mm case is balanced by short lug-to-lug reach and sloping lugs. For the generation discussed, it reports an F6724 automatic movement that can be hand-wound and hacked, but also glare, no lume, fiddly winding, and a power reserve described as under 30 hours. Bambino generations differ, so those movement details should not be generalized to every version. The source’s September 2026 price snapshot was $150–$250.

3. G-Shock Mudmaster GG-1000-1A5

For outdoor use, the Mudmaster’s reported shock and mud resistance, compass, thermometer, and 200m water resistance offer practical appeal. Its substantial size is a trade-off, as is the negative LCD, which the source found difficult to read outdoors. The reviewed version was reported not to have Tough Solar. Two Broke Watch Snobs listed a September 2026 price range of $290–$385.

4. Seiko SKX007

The SKX007’s appeal in the article is its easy-wearing diver design and staying power in the owner’s collection, even as newer watches arrived. Its 7S26 movement does not offer hand-winding or hacking, a meaningful convenience compromise for some owners. The source placed condition-dependent secondary-market examples at $350–$650 or more in September 2026; condition and service history matter when assessing an older watch.

5. Seiko Orange Monster SRP309

The Orange Monster turns its bright orange dial into the point: it is distinctive rather than discreet. The source describes it as a 200m diver and recounts its author wearing one for about a year before switching it to a rubber strap. That is an ownership anecdote, not a durability test. The September 2026 secondary-market range reported by Two Broke Watch Snobs was $600–$900.

6. Halios Seaforth IV Titanium

The Seaforth IV Titanium earned wrist time through low weight and fit. The source praises its titanium case and bracelet micro-adjust, while noting that the material can show scratches and that availability is limited. The listed price was $970 in the September 2026 article; treat it as a source-reported listing, not a current offer.

7. Serica 5303-2

The Serica’s dual-scale bezel gives it a distinctive look and function, but takes practice to read. The source reports 300m water resistance and flags bracelet comfort and finish as drawbacks. It also distinguishes the reviewed watch’s Soprod Newton movement from later M100 versions, so buyers should check the exact version rather than assume all 5303-2 examples match. The September 2026 price snapshot was $1,720–$1,950.

8. Grand Seiko SBGV233 Quartz

The SBGV233’s quartz movement was part of its appeal for owners seeking low-maintenance timekeeping. The article attributes ±10 seconds per year to its 9F82 movement and notes tedious bracelet sizing. Both are source-reported details. The September 2026 secondary-market range was $1,900–$2,900.

9. Omega Seamaster 2541

The Seamaster 2541 offers another low-maintenance quartz option, with the source reporting 300m water resistance. Its authors’ account includes a service trip to Switzerland, a reminder that quartz does not mean no ownership costs. Two Broke Watch Snobs reported a condition-dependent secondary-market range of $2,000–$3,500 in September 2026.

10. Monta Skyquest GMT

The Skyquest combines GMT utility with a 300m rating, according to the source, and its tool-free bracelet adjustment helps accommodate changes in wrist size. The source notes that current styling differs from earlier versions, making precise version identification important. Its September 2026 price range was $2,435–$2,500.

11. Tudor Black Bay 79220N

The 79220N’s vintage-inspired styling helped it remain interesting to its owner, while the source reports an ETA 2824 movement. Size and bracelet adjustment are cited as trade-offs. Two Broke Watch Snobs put its September 2026 secondary-market range at $3,400–$3,750.

12. Tudor Black Bay GMT

The source describes this Black Bay as a flyer GMT, a useful distinction for travelers who want to adjust local time independently. Bracelet adjustment and size remain practical considerations. The September 2026 price range reported by Two Broke Watch Snobs was $4,300–$5,100.

13. Rolex Air-King 14000

The Air-King 14000’s modest proportions are central to its appeal in the article. As an older watch, it also brings vintage-ownership compromises; the source does not establish a uniform condition or service state across examples. Its September 2026 secondary-market range was $5,400–$6,900, varying with condition.

14. Rolex Explorer 14270

The Explorer 14270 similarly stands out for restrained proportions and the attachment that can outlast newer alternatives. The article treats it as an older-vintage watch, so condition and service history are important parts of the ownership picture. Two Broke Watch Snobs reported a condition-dependent secondary-market range of $5,900–$7,900 in September 2026.

15. Omega Speedmaster Professional 3861

The Speedmaster Professional 3861 is a manual-wind chronograph. The source’s authors reported about +3 seconds per week in their testing; that is their observed result, not a guarantee for every example. The article listed a price of $7,800 in September 2026.

16. Rolex Submariner 116610

The Submariner 116610’s reported 300m water resistance, Glidelock bracelet, and Cerachrom bezel combine practical features with a strong design identity. Its price and used-market risks are substantial considerations: the source reported a condition-dependent $11,000–$14,000 range in September 2026 and warns about counterfeit risk. Authentication and service history deserve careful attention before a purchase.

How to use the list when choosing a watch

The watches are not measured against one another in a controlled test, and their reported prices span source-listed and secondary-market examples. Use the reasons they stayed in rotation as a checklist for your own needs instead of treating the order as a value or performance ranking.

  • For low-fuss daily wear: consider whether quartz convenience matters more than winding or mechanical character. The Duro and the two quartz models in the list represent different price and design levels, but their reported specifications do not remove the need to check the individual watch and its condition.
  • For water and outdoor use: match the watch’s intended role and verified specification to your needs. The article reports 200m ratings for the Duro and Mudmaster and 300m for several others, but these figures are not independent verification of a specific used example’s present water resistance. Older watches may need inspection and appropriate servicing before water exposure.
  • For travel: a GMT’s time-setting behavior matters as much as its appearance. The source identifies the Black Bay GMT as a flyer GMT and describes the Skyquest as a GMT; confirm the exact version and operation before buying.
  • For comfort: check case diameter, thickness, lug-to-lug reach, bracelet articulation, clasp adjustment, and how the watch sits on your wrist. The source’s examples show why a headline diameter alone cannot settle fit.
  • For an older or discontinued model: ask for service records, inspect condition, and use a reputable authentication process. A listing price cannot tell you whether a particular watch is genuine, correctly configured, or due for costly work.
