How the Copernicus display works
The watch’s unusual hands are designed as planetary markers rather than conventional pointers. The large circle, which indicates minutes, represents Earth; the intermediate circle, which indicates hours, represents Jupiter. Raketa’s explanation links the display to the ratio between the planets’ orbital periods: Earth takes one year and Jupiter twelve, while the minute and hour hands complete their respective dial rotations in one hour and twelve hours. The brand’s model history describes this as part of the design concept.
The 2021 edition preserves that Earth-and-Jupiter arrangement and adds a small open-circle seconds hand. That seconds indication is a distinguishing feature of this edition’s display, alongside its stone dial treatment.

Materials and appearance
Aventurine gives the dial its dark, star-like field, while a yellow agate element represents the Sun. The black PVD-coated steel case frames these materials; the launch configuration included a black leather strap with blue stitching and red lining. Taken together, the dial stones and strap make this variant visually distinct from a plain-dial Copernicus.
