The Amazfit Helio Strap is real. The discreet, screen-minimal fitness tracker was first reported on June 1, 2025, after an FCC listing and software-sourced images revealed a black band with concealed display hardware. Amazfit later released it as an official product. In the U.S., the listed price is $99.99, although stock has appeared inconsistent.
The Helio Strap is best understood as a subscription-free training and recovery companion—not a replacement for a GPS smartwatch. It tracks heart rate, sleep, stress-related metrics, blood oxygen, HRV and workouts through the Zepp App, while its unobtrusive design is intended for continuous wear.

What was revealed in June 2025?
The original report was credible, but its timing matters. On June 1, 2025, the Helio Strap was an upcoming product rather than a fully documented retail launch. An FCC-related listing identified model A2445 as a “Smart Band,” while images reportedly extracted from Zepp Health software showed the product’s design.

The FCC material also showed optical sensors and two charging contacts. The early report attributed a 460 × 460 resolution to AndroidTR’s software findings; that figure should be treated as an early, indirectly sourced specification rather than independently confirmed hardware documentation.

Amazfit subsequently listed the Helio Strap as an official retail product, confirming that the 2025 reveal was not simply a cancelled prototype or an inaccurate leak. The distinction is useful: the first article reported an imminent product, while Amazfit’s later store listing established the finished product line.

Design and specifications
The Helio Strap is designed to disappear more easily under clothing and during sleep than a conventional smartwatch. Its sensor module is integrated into a nylon, hook-and-loop band, and the display is concealed rather than presented as a prominent watch screen.

What health and fitness data does it track?
The official feature set positions the Helio Strap as a recovery and training accessory rather than a basic step counter. It includes:
- Continuous heart-rate monitoring
- Sleep tracking
- Stress-related measurements
- Blood-oxygen-related measurements
- Heart-rate variability and recovery insights
- BioCharge energy monitoring
- Workout tracking with more than 50 workout modes
- Live heart-rate broadcasting to compatible devices and apps
The sensor package includes Amazfit’s BioTracker 6.0 PPG biometric sensor, specified as 5PD + 2LED, plus an accelerometer, gyroscope and temperature sensor.
Terms such as BioCharge, readiness, recovery, stress and energy describe consumer-wearable estimates produced from sensor data and software algorithms. They are not medical diagnoses, and the Helio Strap should not be treated as a medical device.

How it works with Zepp and Amazfit watches
The Helio Strap is most compelling inside Amazfit’s ecosystem. It can continue collecting data when an Amazfit watch is charging or not being worn, then synchronize that information through the Zepp App. It can also be paired with compatible Amazfit watches and the Helio Ring.
Recommended Free Tools
The product supports iPhone and Android through Zepp. Amazfit lists integrations including Strava, TrainingPeaks, adidas Running, Runna, Komoot, Relive and Apple Health, although availability and exported metrics can vary by region, platform and app version.
In practical terms, this is not a completely platform-independent tracker. You need the Zepp App and a compatible phone for setup and synchronization. It is a stronger proposition for Amazfit owners or people willing to adopt Zepp than for buyers who want to avoid a manufacturer-specific software ecosystem.
Does the Helio Strap require a subscription?
Amazfit’s U.S. product page says the Helio Strap provides its training, recovery, health and performance insights with no required monthly subscription. That is a significant advantage over subscription-led recovery wearables such as Whoop.
However, “no required subscription” is more precise than “everything is free forever.” Optional services, premium AI functions, future features or related products may have separate terms, and availability can vary by region. The hardware also remains dependent on the Zepp App for its full experience.

Amazfit rates the 232 mAh battery for up to 10 days. That is a manufacturer estimate, not a guaranteed runtime. Frequent workouts, continuous measurements, live heart-rate broadcasting, vibration alerts and repeated synchronization can reduce battery life.

The user manual documents Zepp App paths such as Zepp App > Device > Helio Strap > Alarm. When adding the band as a workout accessory, the manual directs users through the Bluetooth workout-accessory flow. Menu labels may change with app versions and regions, so the current manual is the best reference for setup.

The strap has a 5 ATM water-resistance rating. Amazfit describes it as suitable for everyday exposure, sweating, showering and shallow swimming—not diving or high-pressure water activities. A practical additional precaution is to avoid saunas and very hot showers unless current Amazfit guidance explicitly permits them; heat and steam can place extra stress on seals.
What the Helio Strap does not have
The Helio Strap is not a small smartwatch. The early reporting indicated no NFC, no cellular connectivity and Bluetooth-only operation. That means it should not be presented as a contactless-payment device or an independent phone replacement.

Its concealed display also makes it unsuitable for buyers who need maps, apps, music controls, notifications, on-device GPS or detailed workout navigation. A Garmin wearable, Fitbit Charge-style tracker or conventional Amazfit watch is a better fit for those requirements.
Price and availability
Amazfit’s U.S. store lists the Helio Strap at $99.99. That price was observed on August 18, 2026. Availability has been less consistent: U.S. product pages have shown both “Temporarily Sold Out” and “Coming Soon.” Stock is therefore region- and inventory-dependent, not something to assume from the product’s existence alone.

Amazfit Helio Strap product page
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Who should buy it?
It makes the most sense for:
- Amazfit watch owners who want data collection while their watch is charging
- Athletes who prefer a low-distraction training accessory
- Sleep trackers who dislike wearing a larger smartwatch overnight
- Buyers who want recovery-oriented insights without a required monthly fee
- Users who need live heart-rate broadcasting
- People who prefer wrist or upper-arm placement
It is a poor fit for:
- Anyone seeking an independent tracker with GPS and a full display
- Buyers unwilling to use the Zepp App
- Users who need NFC payments or cellular service
- Divers and people exposed to high-pressure or high-temperature water
- Anyone expecting medical-grade measurements
- Users who need the broadest possible third-party ecosystem without regional limitations
Common problems and practical fixes
Pairing failure
Enable Bluetooth, update the Zepp App and phone operating system, and add the strap through Zepp rather than relying only on the phone’s Bluetooth settings. For workout use, follow the manual’s workout-accessory pairing flow. Remove stale Bluetooth pairings and check that the strap is not already connected to another phone.
Repeated disconnections
Amazfit advises checking that both the Zepp App and the strap’s operating system are up to date. Keeping the phone nearby and removing obsolete pairings can also help.
Incomplete data
Gaps can result from a loose fit, interrupted sensor contact, moisture, a depleted battery, delayed synchronization, regional integration limits or a lost Bluetooth connection. The ecosystem is intended to reduce gaps; it cannot guarantee uninterrupted data.
Water-related damage
Do not interpret 5 ATM as unrestricted waterproofing. Avoid diving, high-pressure water and, as a precaution, saunas and very hot showers.
Helio Strap versus Helio Strap Pro
The Helio Strap Pro, announced by Zepp in June 2026, is a separate later model aimed at HYROX and hybrid training. It is not a rename of the original Helio Strap and should not be confused with the $99.99 product described here.

How it compares with alternatives
Whoop is the closer comparison for subscription-based recovery coaching, but it is less suitable for buyers who want to avoid recurring fees. Fitbit Charge products are better for a conventional display and mainstream activity tracking. Polar Verity Sense is more focused on workout heart-rate sensing and external-device pairing, rather than a 24/7 recovery ecosystem. Garmin wearables are better for GPS, navigation, on-device training and broader sports-watch functions, but they serve a different, generally more watch-like purpose.
Verdict
The June 2025 story was a legitimate early reveal supported by an FCC listing and software-sourced images, but “official” needed historical qualification at the time. The Helio Strap is now an established Amazfit product: a discreet, Bluetooth-connected training and recovery companion with a $99.99 U.S. list price, no required monthly subscription and up to 10 days of claimed battery life.
Its strengths are low-distraction wear, Zepp-based recovery features and compatibility with Amazfit watches. Its limits are equally important: no NFC, GPS, cellular service or full smartwatch interface, plus region-dependent availability and software integrations. Buy it for continuous ecosystem data—not as a replacement for a smartwatch.
