Its battery life was useful for its era, but the headline figures depend on specific usage conditions, and the independent reviews available are from 2017—not tests of a Pace bought used today.
What the Amazfit Pace offers
Amazfit lists the Pace as model A1602. Its manufacturer-stated specifications include a 1.34-inch reflective low-power color display at 320 × 300 resolution, GPS and GLONASS, 4 GB of internal flash storage, a 290 mAh battery, IP67 water- and dust-protection, and a weight of 53.7 g. The watch has a ceramic bezel and a 22 mm quick-release sports band. Amazfit’s product page also advertises onboard music storage for up to 500 songs, subject to its stated file-size and storage assumptions.
The reflective display and onboard storage give the Pace a practical running-watch orientation: it can show information continuously and store music on the watch. Those features do not make it a modern general-purpose smartwatch, however; the contemporary reviews noted limits in activity options, software responsiveness, and workout tracking.
How long does the battery last?
Amazfit’s product page labels one scenario “5 days of battery life”: Bluetooth connected, a half-hour run every day, and 200 notifications. Its separate 35-hour figure is for continuous GPS running with an hourly reminder, while Bluetooth connection and communications are turned off. These are different manufacturer scenarios, not interchangeable estimates. Amazfit says actual duration varies with settings, operation, and environment. See the stated battery conditions.

Two 2017 reviews offer a real-use counterpoint, but their results apply to those review units and patterns of use:
- Android Authority’s reviewer said moderate-to-heavy use lasted at least four days. The review, published February 2, 2017, described 11 days using the Pace as the reviewer’s main tracker. Android Authority’s review.
- Gadgets 360 reported around four days with continuous heart-rate monitoring and phone notifications, two gym sessions, and one run. Gadgets 360’s review.
Neither observation predicts how long a secondhand or refurbished Pace will last now. Battery age, condition, settings, and use can all affect the result; the historical reviews are not a current battery-health test.

How well does it track workouts?
The evidence is mixed and specific to the reviewers’ tests. Gadgets 360 found distance accurate on one certified 10 km course, but its Pace over-read distance by 24% on a short route with a flyover and trees. That is one reviewer’s result on one obstructed route, not a general GPS error rate. The same review found weak heart-rate readings during strength training. Gadgets 360’s test details.
Android Authority also criticized heart-rate performance during high-intensity workouts and said activity options were narrow. Taken together, the reviews make the Pace easier to recommend for basic running and everyday tracking than for dependable strength-training heart-rate data or broad activity coverage. GPS performance may also depend on the route environment.

Design, software, and language versions
Android Authority praised the sleek design and comfortable straps, and HotHardware described the ceramic bezel as polished. These are subjective impressions from 2017 reviews, but they support the Pace’s central appeal: it looks more like a conventional watch than many sport-focused trackers. The reflective display, GPS/GLONASS, and onboard music storage add useful running features to that design.
Software was a notable weakness in contemporary use. Android Authority reported buggy software, slow on-device operation, and limited interaction with notifications. HotHardware also cautioned that Chinese and English versions could not simply be translated between languages. Because the model is old, check the exact language version and available functions before buying rather than assuming a device can be switched to the language you need.

Buying a Pace now
The Pace is a legacy model, so any current purchase is likely to depend on the seller and market. A regional refurbished product page has appeared, but that does not establish current stock or terms everywhere. Check the listing for condition, seller, included accessories, language version, and return policy. Historical review prices are not useful as current pricing guidance.
Check accessory fit carefully. Amazfit specifies a 22 mm quick-release band, so that measurement is the relevant starting point for replacement straps; no particular third-party band has been tested here. For charging, the Pace uses a charging dock. The Amazfit Pace A1602 manual lists a dock and USB cable, says charging may take 2–3 hours, and suggests trying a new charging dock if its troubleshooting steps do not resolve charging problems. A replacement listing should explicitly name Pace or A1602 compatibility; the 22 mm band measurement does not establish dock compatibility.

Who should consider it?
- A reasonable fit: someone who likes the ceramic-bezel design and wants basic GPS running, onboard music, and a watch with a reflective display, provided the software and age-related trade-offs are acceptable.
- Think carefully: anyone buying used who needs predictable battery life, current software support, or a particular language version. The 2017 battery observations cannot establish the condition of a unit being sold now.
- Look elsewhere if: your main need is reliable heart-rate tracking during strength or high-intensity workouts, a wide range of activity modes, or polished notification interaction; the contemporary reviews identified shortcomings in these areas.
