How the Write Time converts from pen to watch

How it tells time
Launch-era coverage from Monochrome Watches in 2017 describes a one-minute tourbillon visible through the capsule and three rollers that display the hours and minutes. The display is therefore unlike the usual set of hands on a dial: the rollers show the time while the tourbillon remains exposed as a mechanical feature. These are specifications reported at launch, not independently reverified details for a current commission.

Who designed it and how it was developed
In a 2017 interview, creator Anura Rafael said, “I have designed the whole Write Time from scratch, also the movement.” He said he worked with Swiss craftsmen and professionals, and that after completing the design it took two years to find the right craftsmen and produce the first Write Time. This is Rafael’s account of the project at that time; it does not independently establish the provenance of every later commission.
Materials, customization, and ordering
The maker’s current description lists Rose Gold or Platinum options and different leather variations, and says the kit is manufactured upon order. Monochrome Watches’ 2017 coverage also described individual commissioning and customization, including materials, colors, finish, movement, nib, and travel box. Those historical options should not be assumed to remain available in the same form. Ask the maker to confirm the materials, configuration, and included accessories for a specific order.

The current maker page does not state a price, stock status, or delivery time. Monochrome Watches reported a starting price of CHF 245,000 in 2017; The Peak Singapore reported S$347,900 that year as a period-specific local price.
