The band was a physical accessory; the face and wallpapers were software features.
What Apple included in the 2025 Black Unity Collection
Black Unity Sport Loop
The collection’s physical product was a special-edition Apple Watch Sport Loop in 42mm and 46mm sizes. Apple described a woven design with raised and recessed loops. Green is visible on one side and red on the other, with yellow appearing as the colors shift when the band moves.
Unity Rhythm watch face
The Unity Rhythm face uses intertwined red, green, and yellow strands to form its numerals. Apple said the face responds to the watch gyroscope: when the wearer raises their wrist, the abstract strokes form digits. Distinctive chimes mark each hour and half hour.
Unity Rhythm wallpapers
For iPhone and iPad, Apple introduced wallpapers with custom lettering spelling “Unity.” The lettering changes orientation as the device locks and unlocks.

Apple’s model compatibility is the useful starting point when choosing a size, but check the precise case size and band fit for your watch before buying. The face and wallpapers have separate device requirements from the physical Sport Loop.
Design, inspiration, and community support
Apple said the collection was designed collaboratively by Black creatives and allies at Apple and used the colors of the Pan-African flag. Apple described it as “Inspired by the rhythm of humanity, a new Black Unity Collection honours Black History Month, and celebrates Black culture and community.”

Apple also named grants to five arts, music, and community organizations: the Ellis Marsalis Center for Music in New Orleans, Battersea Arts Centre in London, Music Forward Foundation in Los Angeles, Art Gallery of New South Wales in Sydney, and the National Museum of African American Music in Nashville. Apple’s announcement did not state grant amounts.

Apple’s Latin America announcement listed a US$49 launch price, and its UK announcement listed £49 at launch. These are regional historical prices from 2025, not current prices. Apple’s announcements do not establish whether the band is now in stock or what any retailer currently charges.
