The Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore Music Edition brings studio-inspired details to the Offshore: AP describes its dial as a VU meter and its push-piece guards as reminiscent of mixer faders. The documented versions include 43 mm cases in black ceramic or titanium and a 37 mm titanium model. A separate 37 mm white-gold, gem-set Music Edition appears in AP’s 2022 history and should not be confused with those references.
What is the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore Music Edition?
It is a music-themed variation of the Royal Oak Offshore, using visual cues from recording and mixing equipment. The defining feature is the dial, which AP says represents a VU meter; the guards around the push pieces are designed to evoke mixer faders. The collection’s music connection also sits within a longer relationship between AP and musicians, but the Music Edition references are distinct from earlier artist collaborations.
AP’s product pages document three references in ceramic or titanium: 15600CE.OO.A002CA.01, 15600TI.OO.A343CA.01 and 77600TI.OO.A343CA.01. Its Heritage timeline separately records a 2022 white-gold reference, 77601BC.
What makes the Royal Oak Offshore Music Edition different?
Studio-inspired design
The VU-meter dial and fader-like push-piece guards give the watch its specific music-studio vocabulary. These details distinguish the Music Edition visually while retaining the assertive Offshore design. AP traces that design to Emmanuel Gueit’s 1989 studies and the collection’s 1993 Basel Fair introduction. In AP’s account of a 2016 Le Point interview, Gueit recalled the brief: “He wanted to produce a masculine, assertive watch for young people.”

Materials and straps
The three product-page references vary by case material, diameter and strap color. The 43 mm ceramic model is black with a black rubber strap; the 43 mm titanium version pairs titanium with a blue rubber strap. The 37 mm titanium model has a blue dial and textured blue rubber strap, with turquoise, yellow and green strap options also listed by AP. The straps are described as interchangeable; compatibility with other references or third-party straps is not established here.

The 37 mm and 43 mm figures describe case diameter, not how a watch will wear. Case thickness and lug-to-lug dimensions were not verified for every reference, so diameter alone cannot establish which size will suit a particular wrist. If fit matters, compare the exact watch on wrist rather than inferring comfort from the nominal measurement.

Is there a 37 mm Royal Oak Offshore Music Edition?
Yes. AP documents the 37 mm titanium reference 77600TI.OO.A343CA.01 with a blue dial and Calibre 5909. The 60-hour power reserve and 50 m water-resistance figures come from AP’s French-language page. AP’s Heritage timeline also records a different 37 mm Music Edition, reference 77601BC, in white gold: that 2022 historical model has an aventurine dial, rainbow baguette-cut gem setting and Calibre 5909. It is a separate archival variation, not another name for the titanium watch.
How does the Music Edition fit AP’s music history?
The Music Edition was not AP’s first watch connected to music. In 2005, Audemars Piguet and Jay-Z created Royal Oak Offshore reference 26055 for the artist’s 10th career anniversary. AP’s Heritage account lists 50 steel, 30 pink-gold and 20 platinum examples, and says each came with a signed iPod containing Jay-Z’s songs. That collaboration predates the Music Edition and is not one of its references.

AP’s Heritage account also records 716 Royal Oak Offshore watches sold across its listed markets and categories from 1993 through 1995: 61 in 1993, 330 in 1994 and 325 in 1995. Those are historical collection sales figures, not current production totals or evidence of present-day demand.
