Bronze case and aviation-inspired design
The bronze case is the defining material choice, paired with a design AVI-8 frames around aviation and the Eagle Squadron story. Bronze can change appearance with use, but AVI-8’s product pages do not establish how this case will patinate over time. Color and rate of change depend on wear and environment; there is no independent long-term result to report here.
AVI-8 also describes a hidden dial inscription revealed under UV light. Its model overview says: “By day, precision and poise. By night, brilliance and revelation.” The inscription shown on that page is “First from the eyries. For liberty. Let us to the battle.” These are manufacturer descriptions, rather than independently verified observations.

What the 85th-anniversary designation commemorates
AVI-8 describes the collection as a tribute to the 85th anniversary of the Eagle Squadrons and to American pilots who volunteered to serve alongside the RAF before the United States entered World War II. The Royal Air Force says 71 (Eagle) Squadron formed in September 1940 and describes the American volunteers who served before their country had formally entered the war. The anniversary language is AVI-8’s framing of the watch; the RAF account provides historical context, not an endorsement of the product.
Price, stock and warranty details
