The BALL Engineer Master II Skindiver Heritage reference DM3308A is a specification-led, 42 mm automatic dive-style watch with a COSC-certified movement, ceramic unidirectional bezel, 300 m stated water resistance and 15 micro gas tubes. BALL’s listed dimensions and functions make it a substantial, feature-rich proposition on paper; they do not establish how it wears, performs in a dive or compares with competing watches.
Which BALL Skindiver Heritage is this?
This review concerns the Engineer Master II Skindiver Heritage, reference DM3308A, as listed by BALL Watch Company. The reference matters: BALL also lists a blue-dial Engineer Master II configuration under the distinct reference DM3308A-P1C-BE, while the related Engineer II Skindiver Heritage DM3208B is another model with different specifications. Do not use details from those watches as if they applied to DM3308A.
The DM3308A product listing describes a black dial and stainless-steel bracelet. The separate DM3308A-P1C-BE listing describes a blue dial, black rubber strap and pin buckle. Confirm the full reference and included strap or bracelet on the exact listing before relying on a photograph, price or availability.

How big is the DM3308A?
At 42 mm across, 15.2 mm thick and 53 mm from lug to lug, the DM3308A has dimensions worth checking against a watch you already find comfortable. Its listed 22 mm lug width and approximately 190 g weight also give useful context for strap planning and heft. Dimensions alone cannot predict fit: wrist shape, bracelet adjustment, the case profile and personal preference all matter. If you can, try the exact bracelet configuration on your wrist before buying.
Movement, certification and everyday functions
BALL lists its automatic caliber as RR1102-C and identifies it as COSC-certified. The stated functions are hours, minutes, sweep seconds, day and date. COSC certification is a formal chronometer certification; it is not evidence here of an independently measured accuracy result for an individual DM3308A, nor a promise about how a particular watch will perform over time.

The day-and-date display adds calendar utility beyond a time-only diver-style watch. The available product information does not establish details such as the movement’s power reserve or a recommended service interval, so those should be confirmed with BALL or an authorized service provider if they affect your decision.
Water resistance, bezel and protection
BALL gives the DM3308A a water-resistance rating of 300 m / 1,000 ft and specifies a screw-in crown and unidirectional rotating ceramic bezel. Those are manufacturer claims for this reference, not a report of dive testing. A stated rating should not be treated as proof that an older, damaged or unserviced watch remains watertight; the condition of seals and crown matters in actual use.

The listing also specifies 80,000 A/m anti-magnetism, a Mu-metal shield and 5,000 G shock resistance. BALL’s owner manual explains that automatic watches in the Engineer Hydrocarbon, Engineer Master II and Engineer II series use an antimagnetic soft-iron inner jacket, and notes that water resistance varies by model. The DM3308A’s specific figures should therefore be read from its product listing, not generalized to every BALL watch.
What the 15 micro gas tubes mean
BALL lists 15 micro gas tubes on the dial and hands. This identifies the watch’s illumination approach, but the available specifications do not establish measured brightness, duration, or how its visibility compares with another watch. Those practical qualities require direct assessment rather than inference from the tube count.

Price and configuration to verify
BALL’s product page displayed a price of US$3,199, with import duties included, and an estimated availability of 15 days for the listed DM3308A configuration at the time the page was reviewed. Both price and availability can change; check the live official listing and confirm that the displayed dial and bracelet match the reference being purchased. The separate blue-dial rubber-strap reference should not be assumed to share the same current price or delivery estimate.

The DM3308A stands out in its own specification sheet for combining COSC certification, day/date, 300 m stated water resistance, 80,000 A/m anti-magnetism, a ceramic unidirectional bezel and gas-tube illumination in a 42 mm steel case. That combination gives a buyer concrete points to weigh, but it does not settle comfort, real-world accuracy, long-term reliability or suitability for a particular dive. The most useful next step is to verify the exact reference and configuration, then assess the watch’s dimensions and weight on your wrist.
