The Beaubleu Vitruve Date Steel stands apart through its round hands and brushed-steel dial, rather than a conventional watch display. It is a 39 mm automatic with a date at 6 o’clock, 3 ATM water resistance and a manufacturer-stated 42-hour power reserve. Beaubleu’s product page described it as an 888-piece limited edition and showed it out of stock when checked on October 8, 2026; an older review gives a conflicting edition count, so the number deserves a closer look.
What makes the Vitruve Date Steel distinctive?
Its defining feature is the circular, or round-hand, display associated with Beaubleu. Fratello’s April 11, 2023 hands-on review describes the watch’s monochromatic steel appearance, distinctive hands, special dial and mesh bracelet. Those are the reviewer’s visual observations, not laboratory findings. The unusual hand shape gives the dial a different visual character from watches with conventional pointed hands; whether it is easy to read at a glance is a matter of personal preference.
Beaubleu describes the dial as brushed steel that blends with the matte and polished case, with a date window at 6 o’clock. The brand says the case alternates mirror polishing with vertical brushing. Its collection page attributes the Vitruve collection’s inspiration to Roman architect and engineer Vitruvius and the principles of harmony, rhythm and beauty; that is the manufacturer’s design story.

Specifications and warranty terms are from Beaubleu’s official Vitruve Date Steel product page. Monochrome reports a 45 mm lug-to-lug measurement, which is not listed in the manufacturer specifications above.

How to read the round hands
The hands are the visual signature, but the available descriptions do not establish a special reading method or a measured legibility result. Fratello identifies them as round hands; rather than assuming they will read like conventional pointed hands, look closely at the dial images and consider whether the hand shape and contrast suit your everyday use. If you can inspect one in person, check how readily you can distinguish the indicated time under the lighting in which you normally wear a watch.
What the edition count, price and stock status mean
Beaubleu’s English product page called the watch an 888-piece limited edition and showed it as “Out of stock” when accessed on October 8, 2026. The brand’s Vitruve collection page displayed a starting price of €820 at that time. Page stock and prices can change, so check the current listing directly before making a purchase decision.

There is a material discrepancy in the edition count: Monochrome’s older hands-on article reports 288 pieces, while Beaubleu’s current product page says 888. These claims should not be combined or treated as settled by the available information. For the current manufacturer claim, 888 is the figure Beaubleu lists; the older review’s 288 remains a conflicting historical report.
Monochrome also recorded launch-era prices of €820 on a strap and €950 on a stainless-steel mesh bracelet. Those are historical prices, not current offers or evidence that either configuration is in stock.

Fit, straps and practical limits
At 39 mm in diameter and 9.5 mm thick, the manufacturer’s dimensions provide a useful starting point for judging scale. Monochrome’s additional 45 mm lug-to-lug figure can help with comparisons, but wrist fit still depends on wrist shape and personal preference.
The official page says the straps are interchangeable, and both the product specifications and Monochrome’s reporting support a 20 mm strap category. Monochrome describes leather and stainless-steel mesh options. However, the available information does not confirm the attachment mechanism or fit of any particular third-party strap. Before buying a generic 20 mm watch strap, confirm the connector style and dimensions against the watch; a matching width alone does not guarantee compatibility.

Beaubleu states 3 ATM water resistance. That is not a basis for treating this watch as suitable for swimming or diving. Follow the manufacturer’s guidance for water exposure rather than inferring a use case beyond the stated rating.
