BEHRENS and independent watchmaker Vianney Halter unveiled their first jointly created watch, the Master Collection KWH, at Geneva Watch Days on September 3, 2025. Its defining feature is an hour display made from a ruby-bearing micro-chain that winds across the dial in a path reminiscent of the classic Snake game.
How the KWH collaboration began
BEHRENS says the idea took shape when its founder, Lin Bingqiang, visited Halter’s workshop in Sainte-Croix, Switzerland. Lin noticed an antique electricity meter in Halter’s collection that recalled a similar industrial object he owned. The KWH turns that shared reference into a square-cased watch. BEHRENS describes it as the second model in its Master Collection.
How the display works
Chain hours and axial indications
A ruby-bearing micro-chain traces a serpentine, pixel-like route around the dial to indicate the hours. The lower dial uses BEHRENS’ axial display system for minutes, power reserve, and day-night indication. Calendar and moon-phase displays are placed on the caseback and adjusted with quick-set pushers.
Movement and power reserve
The watch is powered by the hand-wound BM06 calibre. BEHRENS’ September 2025 launch announcement specifies a 72-hour power reserve; its gold-model product pages describe the calibre as comprising 870 components.

Both gold models are listed with 30 m water resistance. BEHRENS’ cited product pages do not establish the ceramic and tantalum models’ case dimensions, strap details, water resistance, or remaining availability, so those specifications should not be assumed to match the gold versions.

What makes the KWH distinctive
The KWH combines an industrial-meter reference with an unconventional way to show the time: hours are carried by a moving chain rather than conventional hands or numerals. Its other indications are split between the dial and caseback, with the calendar and moon phase requiring a view of the rear of the watch. The four listed editions preserve the BM06 calibre and principal display functions while varying in case material, color, listed price, and edition size.
