How does the design come across?
Scholz described a deliberately low-contrast dial: the dark markers and hands visually blend with the sandy beige tones rather than standing out sharply. In his assessment, the dial screws and red limited-edition badge supplied stronger visual accents. That is the reviewer’s impression of the design, not an independently measured legibility result. Is it the same as later Desert Type versions?
Not necessarily. Bell & Ross’s US page URL includes the words “desert-type-ceramic,” while its visible technical specifications describe a PVD-finished steel case. Separately, a retailer result identifies a Desert Type reference as ceramic, and a later report covers a ceramic-cased Desert Type line.
